LEARNING LOG QUESTIONS:
1.

Was there variety of assessment methods/tools used by the teacher?

How relevant was/were the assessment methods/tools used?

In Mapeh subject there was variety of assessment methods/tools used by

the teacher. The assessment methods/tools that were used were so relevant
and effective. The teacher used personal communication in her discussion
and later on she used the oral questioning wherein the teacher asked
questions to the students regarding the topic. Also by requiring the students
reflections regarding the video presented.
2.

Do you think the expected learning behaviors indicated in the

objectives were properly and appropriately assess through those
assessment methods?

In this subject the expected learning behaviors indicated in the objectives

were properly and appropriately assessed through the assessment methods
that being used. It is because the methods were appropriate and effective in
knowing the student learning and behaviors.
3.

Explain and reflect on the following.

Appropriateness in the use of any method of assessment is not just

something that teachers wish to consider, but rather indispensable principle
of fair assessment practices. If taken for granted, our evaluation of students
learning is erroneous, misleading and unfair.
In education, the term assessment refers to the wide variety of
methods or tools that educators used to evaluate, measure and document
the academic readiness learning progress, skill acquisition and educational
needs of students. The teacher should not just focus in the appropriateness in
the use of any method of assessment but rather fairness practices. It means
that the teacher should make effort to ensure the assessment being reflected
is valid, reliable and fair to every students in terms of their different learning
styles and attitudes. Also the teacher must focus on promoting fairness and
equity in student assessment practices.

LEARNING LOG QUESTIONS:
1.

Was there variety of assessment methods/tools used by the teacher?

How relevant was/ were the assessment method(s)/ tool(s) used?

Yes, there was a variety of assessment methods/tools used by the teacher

because of the different learning styles of the students. It is very relevant to
use a variety of assessment methods/ tools because of the different
characteristics of each individual. Each of them has their own uniqueness.
2.

Do you think the expected students learning behaviors indicated in

the objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods?

Yes. The expected students learning indicated in the objectives were

properly and appropriately assessed those assessment methods because the
students were actively participating in the class discussions and the results of
assessment is good and the students really learned a lot from the topic being
taught by the teacher.
3. Explain and reflect the following:
Appropriateness in the use of any method of assessment is not just
something that teachers wish to consider, but rather an indispensable
principle of fair assessment practices. If taken for granted, our evaluation of
students learning erroneous, misleading, and unfair.
Appropriate method of assessment means appropriate or fair
distribution of teachers choice of strategy. The assessment of student
performance serves many purposes. For the student, assessment aids
learning and measures mathematical knowledge and power. For the teacher,
it provides information about how instruction should be modified and paced.
For the administrator, it charts the effectiveness of a program. In addition,
the general public expresses concern about academic achievement. Each of
these groups asks different questions. Each needs different kinds of
information. An assessment designed to answer one kind of question can
misrepresent the answer to another. Although this caveat might seem
obvious, the legitimate uses of an assessment often are not well understood
or defined, as when, for example, standardized tests of general mathematical
achievement are used for curriculum evaluation.
The purpose of an assessment -to identify areas of difficulty for
individual students, to gather data for instructional planning, to assign
grades, or to evaluate a program--should dictate the kinds of questions
asked, the methods employed, and the uses of the resulting information.
When one type of measure is used in lieu of another, the information
obtained is often invalid or useless. In addition, the methods used to gather
information should be appropriate to the developmental level and maturity of
the students outlines some common purposes of student evaluation.

LEARNING LOG QUESTIONS:

1. Was their variety of assessment methods/ tools used by the teacher?
How relevant was/ were the assessment method(s)/ tool(s) used?
Yes, there was variety of assessment methods used by the teacher. The
teacher, discussed to her students about the lesson and showed them a
video clip related to what she was discussing to them in order for the
students to understand more about the topic. Then, she also interviewed
some of the students about their experiences based on the topic presented.
2. Do you think the expected students behaviors indicated in the
objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods?
I think the expected students behaviors indicated in the objectives were
properly and appropriately assessed through the assessment methods used
by the teacher because as we can see, more than half of the students
attentively participated in the discussion and shared their experiences related
to the topic discussed and most of them are raising their hands to be
recognized and present what they have in mind to the teacher.
3. Explain and reflect on the following:
Appropriateness in the use of any method of assessment is not just
something that teachers wish to consider, but rather an indispensable
principle of fair assessment practices. If taken for granted, our evaluation of
students learning is erroneous, misleading and unfair.
The main purpose of assessment is to identify areas of difficulty for
individual students, to gather data for planning, to assign grades or to
evaluate a program. Assessment should also dictate the kind of question
asked and the methods that were employed. If one type of a measure is used
to another, the information obtained is often invalid or useless. In addition,
the methods used to gather information should be appropriate to the
developmental level and maturity of the students.
For teachers, assessment provides information of how instruction
should be modified and paced. This assessment also serves as a basis to
prove how well or appropriate the methods used. If a method used is not
appropriate to the task or objectives given by the teacher, then it is not even
valid. For example, when a teacher is giving an activity for the students to
conduct but does not suit the developmental level and the maturity of the
students, then it is considered to be inappropriate because when we say
appropriateness, it means that the content of the topic or objectives should

be achievable by your selected group of students or learners in order for the

assessment to be valid and acceptable.

Yes. There was variety of assessment methods/tools used by the teacher.

The assessment methods/tools used was relevant in a way they the cognitive,
affective, and psychomotor domains of objectives will be achieved. Using
modules in discussion will do the cognitive domain of objectives. It is because
the teacher is asking what the students understanding in a certain word or
phrases while video presentation is intended to achieve the affective and
psychomotor objective. The video presentation help the students to reflect
and realize their wrong manners and also teach the students to appreciate
others and be sociable.
2.

Do you think the expected student's learning behaviors indicated in

the objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods?

Yes, the expected students learning behaviors indicated in the objectives

were properly and appropriately assessed through those assessment
methods. The evidence is that the students fully understand what is bullying.
The students show respect to their fellow students and to their teachers after
the lesson.
3.

How relevant was/were the assessment method(s)/tool(s) used?

Yes, there was variety of assessment methods/tools used by the

teacher. The teacher teaches Mapeh subject, first she discuss the topic that
they will tackle and to make student understand more about the topic
discussed, teacher used flat screen TV in assessing her student by showing
the different example. After the film showing, teacher raises some questions
to the student in order to test if they learned from what they are watching
and ask some questions about experiences in their life that were also related
to the topic.
2.

Do you think the expected students learning behaviors indicated in

the objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods?

Yes, the expected students learning behaviors indicated in the

objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods. As i observed, the objectives was meet by the teacher
because of the response of the student. They can answer the questions and
participate in the class discussion.
3. . Appropriateness in the use of any method of assessment is not just
something that teachers wish to consider, but rather an indispensable
principle of fair assessment practices. If taken for granted, our
evaluation of students learning is erroneous, misleading, and unfair.
Teachers need to consider the principles of learning assessment
wherein she/ he need to cater the needs and interests of the learners.
Choosing the appropriate and suitable method of assessment will reflect to
you as a teacher. Selecting assessment of method is the teacher difficult task
to do. She/ he need to acclimatize that students have different learning styles
which are suitable for their level of understanding. In addition, teachers
should provide a variety of learning methods wherein it can be catered and
aroused the needs and interests of each learner. So, in order to avoid the
erroneous assessment, teachers should be resourceful in preparing and
selecting the assessment method so that students will become participative.
Teachers also need to develop his/her pedagogy, because the learning
outcomes depend on the skill and technique that you have made after the
discussion. It measures your ability and capacity on how to deal your
students and imparting the knowledge on them.

The paragraph do not just only refers to teachers that use appropriate
assesment methods in teaching but it also refers on how teachers use
appropriate assessment methods to assess diverse students.
On my own opinion in choosing appropriate assessment methods, the
teacher should always consider the differences of his/her students and be
flexible in assessing the student. She/He should also use variety of
assessment methods so that the evaluation will be valid and fair because
fairness ensures that everyone has an equal chance of getting a good

As a teacher to be, we must always bare in our minds and hearts that
being fair can lead into a better one. As the statement said, it only speaks for
the appropriateness of the method that is being used by the teacher. This
only concludes that our methodological ways on teaching can affect the
learners ability to learn. This appropriateness of methods used must be
practiced by teachers so that they can provide a well competent product and
will not lead to an erroneous result of students learning. Therefore we, as a
future teacher must carry the in our hearts that we must be sure of our action
for it may result to pleasant or unpleasant.

The assessment methods/tools used by the teacher is highly relevant
because it is appropriately assess students learning and it results to a
positive one. Therefore, I conclude that students understand clearly and
internalize well the lesson since the teacher administer a good assessment
methods/tools.
2. Do you think the expected students learning behaviors indicated in

How relevant was/ were the assessment method(s)/ tool(s) used?
Yes, there was variety of assessment methods used by the teacher. She
first discussed and checked the assignment she gave previously to her
students. Then, started a new lesson using a blackboard where she wrote
some of the contents of the topic and let the students answer an activity in
their module. After that, she also asked some of the students to answer on
the blackboard what they have solved in their modules and checked it.
2. Do you think the expected students behaviors indicated in the
objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods?
I think the expected students behaviors indicated in the objectives were
not properly and appropriately assessed through the assessment methods
used by the teacher because as we observed the classroom, most of the
students were not even listening to the teacher even if the teacher already
used a lapel for the students to hear her when she discuss the lesson.
Some of the students were throwing paper balls to another and the teacher
didnt even bother to call their attention to stop those inappropriate acts
during class hours. The teacher is not even aware that some of her students
were not answering the activity she gave to them and some have not made
and passed their assignments. Then, I also noticed that students who
answered on the blackboard were of the same person. The teacher didnt let
some of the students to try to answer the activity on the board, that is why
she didnt even know if all her students know what she have discussed or not.

principle of fair assessment practices.

LEARNING LOG QUESTIONS:
1.

Was there variety of assessment methods/tools used by the teacher?

How relevant was/were the assessment method(s)/tool(s) used?

Yes. There was variety of assessment methods/tools used by the teacher.

The assessment methods/tools used were very relevant to know if the
students really understand their previous lesson, that's why the teacher
check first the students assignments. It is really important that students fully
understand and know how to solve their previous lesson because in
mathematics the topics are interrelated and connected. The topic for today is
important to easily understand the next topic. In introducing new topic, the
teacher first answer to the students the activity in the module and then
discuss it.

2.

Do you think the expected student's learning behaviors indicated in

the objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods?

I don't think so that the expected students learning behaviors indicated in

the objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods. It is because only few students answering the activity
given by the teacher and during the discussion a lot of students are not
listening attentively. But there are also students who are paying attention and
really interested in their lesson. Those are the students occupying the front
seats.
3.

Explain and reflect on the following:

"Appropriateness in the use of any method of assessment is not just

something that teachers wish to consider, but rather an indispensable
principle of fair assessment practices. If taken for granted, our evaluation of
students' learning is erroneous, misleading, and unfair."
The paragraph refers in assessing diverse students. In choosing

Was their variety of assessment methods/tools used by the teacher?

How relevant was/were the assessment method(s)/tool(s) used?

Yes, the next teacher that we observe teaches English subject. She
read the story to the students and raises some questions to test whether the
students learned or understand the story. She let the students reflect the
story to their self. She knows how to handle students that will not make them
feel bored. She can manage those students that are not paying their
attention.
2. Do you think the expected students learning behaviors indicated in
the objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those
assessment methods?
Yes, because students can response on what they are discussing. They
can share their ideas and reflect their self on what they heard from the story.
They interact with each other because of their different ideas and reasons.

3.

Appropriateness in the use of any method of assessment is not just

The paragraph do not just only refers to teachers that use appropriate
assesment methods in teaching but it also refers on how teachers use
appropriate assessment methods to assess diverse students.
On my own opinion in choosing appropriate assessment methods, the
teacher should always consider the differences of his/her students and be
flexible in assessing the student. She/He should also use variety of
assessment methods so that the evaluation will be valid and fair because
fairness ensures that everyone has an equal chance of getting a good

There was a variety of assessment methods used by the teacher. Although
this teacher is only reading a story to her students, she was really good in
sense of humor. She previously gave the students a task which is role playing
about the story they have read and told them to perform it because she was
not there at that time and not able to meet with them. She also asked the
students if they answered the questions in their modules she gave to them.
Some of the students were asked to answer the questions and also
interviewed what they have learned in the story.
2. Do you think the expected students behaviors indicated in the

assessment methods?
I think the expected students behaviors indicated in the objectives
were not properly and appropriately assessed through the assessment
methods used by the teacher because the teacher during the role playing
was not there to witness what the students were doing. She didnt even know
if the students performed well in that role playing she gave to them. She
