INTRODUCTION

Professors teaching style is one of the factors that may affect the
learners ability to learn. It can be positive and negative impact in College of
Human Kinetics students that may affects their academic performance.
The researchers recognized that the level of competency of some
College of Human Kinetics students when it comes to academics is poor as
shown on the results of their grades. In connection with this, there are few
students had lost their motivation and initiation to study and the professors
will be easily to generalize their ability to learn.
In this case, researchers want to know the effectiveness of teaching
style in the College of Human Kinetics students in Polytechnic University of
the Philippines to perform well. The researchers also want to know where the
problem coming from, in the professors teaching style or on the student
itself.
In the past few years, some College of Human Kinetics Students says
that the teaching style of professors can change the mindset of the student
to become more responsible or irresponsible in their study and sometimes it
depends on the teaching style of professors on how they motivate their
student.
This College of Human Kinetics is one of the best course according to
some school in terms of producing not only a teacher but also a high quality
coach and instructor and still a lot of student in this college had a drop, INC,
Withdraw or 5 in their grades.
If this course can produce a high quality student why some professors
say that CHK Students are not worth it for a high grade and why are they
afraid to teach in this college. The researchers think that the problem may be
the teaching style of the professors.

The researchers believe that teaching in any subject, the professors


must know the appropriate teaching style to deliver the lesson plan very well
and making the discussion more interesting.
From this problem, the researchers got much very interested to know
whats the appropriate teaching style in the College of Human Kinetics that
professors must be apply.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
In this case, the researchers will determine the effectiveness of the
professors teaching style in the academic performance of the College of
Human Kinetics in Polytechnic University.
1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of:
1.1. Age
1.2. Year and Section
2. How will the respondents assess their professors teaching style?
2.1. Handling Class
2.2. Motivating Students
2.3. Discipline
2.4. Classroom Management
2.5. Ability of the Professors
3. Are there any significant differences in the assessment of the
professors teaching style if the respondents will be grouped according
to profile variables?
4. What will be the recommendations of the respondents on the
professors teaching style in the College of Human Kinetics in
Polytechnic University of the Philippines?
ASSUMPTIONS AND HYPOTHESES
The Teaching Style of some professors in College of Human Kinetics in
Polytechnic University of the Philippines is not appropriate and this can
affects the academic performance of the CHK students.
IMPORTANCE OR SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

A survey test in College of Human Kinetics reveals that they can produce a
high quality coaches and Instructor but their image in terms of academic
performance is poor. It must be pointed out that this is the strong reason why
studying the effectiveness of the teaching style in BPE students is necessary.
Also the study is very timely and relevant because today, College of Human
Kinetics still facing a lot of criticism and discrimination in their professors and
some students. So, if these professors can handle the class and apply the
appropriate teaching style, it can Improve the image in terms of academic
performance of CHK students.
If in the study it is found out that the appropriate teaching style
applied and it is very effective in improving the academic performance of
BPE students, it should be pointed out that this can be a contribution for
improving the Pride of the College of Human Kinetics.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
The following terms are defined according to their contextual and
operational uses in this study.
Teaching Style - refers to the teaching strategies and methods of the
professors in College of Human Kinetics
College of Human Kinetics - refers to the course in the Polytechnic University
of the Philippines
Academic Performance- refers to the of grades of the BPE students
Bachelor in Physical Education - refers to the program of College of Human
Kinetics
SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
The study will focus on the effectiveness of teaching style of professors
in the College of Human Kinetics students of Polytechnic University of the

Philippine, sta. mesa campus during the school year 2015-2016. The
respondent will be all Bachelors in Physical Education students.
LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The study does not include other courses and also, this study does not
conclude the teaching style of professors in other college.
