Tutorial V

Making those earrings doesn't require glue or solder -it's

pure wire-wrapping! Pictures and descriptions are designed
even for those not yet self-confident enough to call
themselves intermediate wire-wrapping artists :)
The process of making these earrings is presented in 3 easy
to follow parts and illustrated with 40 pictures.

Importanti do not show how to oxidize (in fact if you want

to oxidize your copper wire, you just have to buy liquid
which oxidized silver(I use such one) and put a wire into the
liquid for sometime (2 -3 minutes). But, i do not show it
here. On the other hand you can use every kind of wire to
create this pattern.

list of materials
This is the list of materials and tools necessary to make 2 earrings
I've used oxidized copper to create this earrings, but it can be any other wire brass, copper, silver or
gold-filled.

2 beads (diameter0.6 cm (0.20)I've used round carnelian stone
4 copper beads (4mm (0.15)

4 brass bead caps (mine have 6 mm in diameter(0.31)

1 pair of earwires

List of tools
flat-nose pliers(they are not necessery)
round-nose pliers
wire cutters

Step 1 making base

First of all you have to cut all wires as it was written in
the list of materials then take one piece (15 cm (5.9)
long) of 20 gouge wire we make base of one earring
from this. I use bottle of nail enamel to shape the base,
but you can use something different. In that way shape
of both bases of earrings should be identical. After
primary shaping put the beads on the wire. Then we
shape it again, and than we close the base and make
little hoop to hang it on a earwire.

Now we put little copper bead on the rest ot the wire, we

shape with pliers the hoop and short it a little. Now you have
to close the hoop with pliers:)

Step 2 making adorments

Now we have to make adornment witch will be
attached into the earrings. Making it is rather
easy we just need to bend the wire into shape
we want. I use for that only my pilers. To make
the adornment use 23 gauge wire (one part).

Please remember that the adornment part

should suit into the our base. You should check
from time to time during the step two if its fit the
base.

Make such a hoop

in the middle of a
wire

Now make smaller hoop on the both sides of the big hoop. You see how it
should look on the pics.

Now we have to
make some more
hoops. Use round
nose pliers for that.

Now we have to
make more hoops:)
they should look
like this on those
photos.

Now we have to even more hoops

We have to squeeze it a little, and put the

carnelian bead on two wires.

Bend wires like on the photos.

Bend it on the one side

and on the other.

It should looks like that:

Now we have to bend the rest of wires, like on the

photos.

The adorment part is ready!

Please
remember that
the adornment
part should
suit into the
our base. You
should check
from time to
time during
the step two if
its fit the base.

Step 3-wrapping
Step 3 is I think the easiest part. Its wrapping
part, where we wire wrapped the base, and
where we attach the adornment part to the
base using wire wrapping.

Its easier to wrap

the earring when
the upper side of
adornment is
attached in both
side

After ending the wrapping cut the rest of a wire and

attached earwire to the earrings. One earing is ready!
Now you should repeat all steps to make the second
one.
