SYNOPSIS

MECHANICAL WORKSHOP PRACTISE 4 allows students in getting use extensively and skilfully
operate machine tools, extend their experiences on indexing, precision grinding, CNC machine
and able to work in a clean and safe workshop environment.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. Construct programs for EDM and CNC machining process using ISO codes.(C5)

2. Perform correctly indexing and machining processes for surface grinding machine
and cylindrical grinding machine (P4) (Compliance to PLO 2)
3. Practise safety procedures correctly in the work shop according ti the workshop
safety regulation to create a secured environment in an organization while doing
practical team work. (A3) (Compliance to PLO 5 and PLO 9)

PRACTISE ON INDEXING AND MACHINING


This topis need student to do the practical using direct indexing, simple indexing, use
surface grinding machine, operate cylindrical grinding machine, keep worksyop clean and
safety.

OPERATE THE CNC MACHINES


SUMMARY OF THE
TOPICS

In this topics, the student will read drawings parts and components, write program, make
arrangement, assemble and alignment of tool used, operate for EDM and CNC lathe/milling
in 2-D and 3-D machining or simulation.

USE CAD/CAM SOFTWARE


In this topics, the student will use software basic and user interface, sketch object in
2-D, create basic part modeling and generate the CNC codes.
