The lost city of Atlantis, myth, reality or one and the same? For years archaeologists have
come together to try and find one of the greatest tantalizing mysteries ofthe world.Thelostcity
of Atlantis, a citysaidtobewaybeyonditstime,vanished.Yetmanytheoriesremain.Thereare
two possible theories, that have enough evidence for either one to be true. Hi my name is

Before I continue, though, I would liketosaythatallweknowabouthowAtlantislooksis byan

ancient greek philosopher named Calaetos. He believe that Atlantis was situated just past the
pillars of hercules somewhere near Morocco and that Atlantis had three rings. A circle in the
middle, another ring outside of that one, and then an additional outer ring, all of these rings
Calaeto claimed to be harbours. Thecircleinthemiddlewouldofbeenweretheverygarnished
place was situated. There would have also been one main pathway toenterthecity,aswellas
two templesonthecentreisland,forwhichhebelievedwastoworshiponeoftheirGodsnamed
Psyme. As well as temples Atlantis also is said to have had an Acropolis. An Acropolis is
usually a fortress on high ground. Atlantis had manytemplesandshrines.TheAtlanteanculture
worshiped sacred bulls, respected by priests and sacrificed in honor of Psyme. Calaetos

Theorieone
Recently a group of people have followed archaeologists George Bonser and Adolf Schulten
theory, who claimed that Atlantis was buried under mud flats in Cadiz, Spain. In 2004 a young
philosopher, Rainer Kuehne made headlines about their theory using photos from a satellite
dish. He believes that the irregular patterns are what used to be the three harbours ofAtlantis.
The mudflats Atlantis was located on used to be partially under water with sandbars
everywhere, this would be the harbours. Mr. Kuehne claims that the circular patterns are the
exact measurements as what Calaetos described. As well as that there is also a rectangular
shape on the circle in the middle near the palace. This rectangular shape should be the two
templesmadeforPsyme.

Theorie two takes place in the islands of Greece, on Crete. Architects, have found an ancient
civilization, that was part of Greece, Manoa. Manoa contains very elaborate architecture.The
Moanin people were said to be master builders. The Manoin architectureverymuchresembles
whatCalaetosdescribed,acitybeyonditstime.TheManoinshadwhatlookstobelikeonemain
pathway into the city, as well as many temples and shrines. In the middle the city contained a
very large building, which is named Knossos palace, very detailed. This was a megastructure.
This civilization also had to have an acropolis with halls, and the bull needed to be a very
powerful figure. And it does, this city could once long ago not of been called by Manoa but by
Atlantis.

Both of these theories, could very possibly lead us to a city once thought myth but soon a
