I will you live we live; I prosper you prosper we prosper. Thats what our
democracy is all about. And in order to strengthen Indian democracy GST
bill is implemented. Good morning to respected jury members, teachers
and all my dear friends. Today I Kshitij Gaur representing group B standing
here to strongly support the motion that yes GST bill will open the flood
gates of development.
Dreaming the future is an easy way to escape the bitter realities of today
but it better to be a dreamer than to be a pessimist. GST has big round of
opportunities within. As it is well said a pessimist finds a difficulty in every
opportunity but an optimist finds an opportunity in every difficulty. So my
worthy opponents refuting the motion are simply living in the world of
pessimism. The GST is basically an indirect tax that brings most of the
taxes imposed on most goods and services, on manufacture, sale and
consumption of goods and services, under a single domain at the national
level.
So lets see how GST bill will help us
Point number 1: GST will be levied only at the final destination of
consumption not on the various points from manufacturing to retail
outlets. So honorable jury member dont you think this will eradicate the
economic manipulation and at the end of the day well find the
development in the common market
Coming down to my second point I would like say that transparency is
indispensible part of our democratic govt. So just to retain transparency
Right to information law was implemented in the year 2005. In the similar
manner GST will surely help in retaining the transparency for government
in aspects of taxation. GST will not be a cost to registered retailers
therefore there will be no hidden taxes and the cost of doing business will
be lower. This in turn will help Export being more competitive.
As per the columns of Economic Times, by implementing the GST, India
will gain $15 billion a year. This is because; it will promote more exports,
create more employment opportunities and boost growth. It will divide the
burden of tax between manufacturing and services. So in the nutshell GST
will aggravate the income through exports. We all know that rise in
national income is simply the rise in GDP. So friends how can GST be still a
bane. At my opinion GST is actually a holy grail in disguise for India.
So now lets see how we the commoners will be benefitted. In the GST
system, taxes for both Centre and State will be collected at the point of
sale. Both will be charged on the manufacturing cost. Individuals will be

benefited by this as prices are likely to come down and lower prices mean
more consumption, and more consumption means more production,
thereby helping in the growth of the companies.

In December 2014, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley introduced the

constitutional amendment Bill of the GST in the Lok Sabha. He announced
that the GST would be a major reform in Indias taxation system since
1947, which would reduce transaction costs for business and boost the
economy.
But it is a topic of grief that someone has brainwashed my worthy
opponents as they are against the GST bill.
My worthy opponents would say GST does not include the issues of
compensation, entry tax and the tax on petroleum products. To contradict
that Jaitley even stated that efforts would be made to completely tarnish
each and every possibility of loss. We should not forget that we are
democratic nation where decisions are made after a lot of discussion. So
the flaws that my worthy opponents are stating are already resolved.
Moreover, GST can also help to diversification of income sources for
Government other than income tax and petroleum tax.
So dear friends if you are still against GST then open your eyes clear the
dust and see the real world.
So I do hope that this bill will fulfill the dreams of many freedom
intellectuals. GST bill will surely forge our countries into a place where the
mind is without fear and the head is held high.
