ABOUT THE SCHOOL


The School of Information Technology &
Engineering (SITE) emphasizes the fields of
Information Technology, Software Engineering and
Domain Specific Applications so as to facilitate the
evolution of skills among students to help them for
attaining a higher degree of knowledge, global
competency and excellence for the betterment of
the society. The school offers B.Tech, M.Tech,
BCA, MCA and Ph.D., programmes. Major areas of
research include Computer Networks, Parallel
Architecture, Software Engineering, Data Mining,
Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Intelligence
Systems and Information Security. It has highly
qualified faculty members and distinguished
professionals
from
industry
and
eminent
researchers. The academic programmes of the
school have been designed to cater to the ever
changing needs and demands of the IT industry.
The focus is on holistic learning and empowering

The 8 International Conference on Soft Computing
and Pattern Recognition (SocPaR 2016) will be held
at VIT University, Vellore during December 19-21,
2016. The objective of the conference is to provide

Workshop Objective

Target Audience:

The task of analyzing big data is always a


challenging one. Though there are many methods,
tools and techniques emerging rapidly in the
promising area, the art of discovering pattern of
interest from the massive amount of big data with
diversified nature is always a crucial task from the
perspective of Data Scientists. The objective of the
workshop is to explore the importance of predictive
modeling techniques and methods for analyzing the
big data towards identifying novel pattern of interest
in the process of decision making.
