MathWe will take Topic 3 test on Monday. We then will begin Topic 4
on division. Every Wednesday we have a timed test. The students first
timed test was a 65%. We set a class goal of 80%. Our score this week
was 76%. Its looking better. Keep practicing your facts!!
Reading Next our story is At the Beach. Fernando leads the children
on an adventure they know they are not suppose to go on. When one of
the children gets hurt. Fernando tells a lie, so he doesnt get into trouble. He eventually confesses and his mother praises him for telling the
truth.

GrammarWe will work on simple subjects and predicates.

Writing Next week, we will be working on descriptive writing.
We will be using our senses to write about an object and then
a spooky house
Spelling The practice tests will be on Tuesdays. Students who
get all their words correct will be given full credit early so they
will not have to take the final test on Fridays. You may access
your spelling words on www.spellingcity.com on your home
computer.

Social Studies Ask your child what are the three theories on
how early people came to our country? We are studying Native Americans. What region they live in and about their resources.
Science We continue to work on scientific theories and practices. We are studying the tools that scientist use.

Note From the Teacher:

I went to apologize for sending the progress reports home late. They should have been sent out
Thursday. They were sent home today! I hope this didnt cause any problems. If the grades arent were you
want them to be, are the students taking advantage of doing homework corrections, retaking test, and doing
the extra credit.
**Reminder** You are given the option of retaking the reading test each week. You need to use your
time either during study hall or recess and I will take the higher grade. Not very many students are taking
advantage of this opportunity to help your grades and become better readers.
