Mid-Term Test (15%)

Question:
Rationalise the outcomes of the simulation exercise by applying the Fiedler Contingency Model.
a) To know the leadership orientation, refer to the psychometric test scores in PGS;
b) To define your situation, reflect on the communication and decision-making pattern within
your team throughout the 1996 Everest group assignment discussions, as well as all other
decision-making pertaining to this group (i.e. simulation role assignments, wall climbing,
group member swap); and
c) If needed, use other psychometric scores and other concepts or theories to help you make
sense to the simulation outcomes.

Using the results from the simulation run on the 27th July, each of you is to type your answers
using Calibri (Body) size 12, 1.5 spacing, in a Word document of not more than 2 pages. No
illustrations are to be included (ex. The Fiedler contingency model). Write your name and
matric no. in the header.
