Leadingthediscussiongroupsallowedmetousemyleadershipinamoretangible
waytoseewhatIcanimproveinsmallgroups.
Definitelyengagingwithcommunitymembersandthenseeingandlearningabout
thecommunitytheyoperatein.SogoingtoUCandmeetingthelocalactivists,then
gettingtoseetheUCcampus,thenactuallyexploringCincinnati.Ithinkthatit'sas
importanttoknowtheenvironmentalandsocialcontextinwhichactivistsor
communitymembersoperatein,especiallyifyouaretotakesomethingawayto
applytoyourownactivism.

ThepanelatUCbecausenowIhavegreatconnectionswithamazingpeoplewho
careasmuchasIdo.Igotsomuchadviceandmyheartwassohappytalkingto

Leavinghomeearlyandendingittoosoon.
Thefactthatitgaveyounotimetoprocessandtakeadeepbreath.Although
technicallywehadbuiltin"reflection"time,Idon'tthinkthisisanadequate
amountoftime(orspace)todothatin.Forone,wewereaskedtoreflectaftera
longdayoftalkingandnoonewasinthemood.Second,wedidn'thavetimeto
processanythingsoIfeltlikeIwasn'tabletohonestlyreflectonthedayanyway.
Third,wereflectedinthesamecabinwejustspenttheentiredayin.Ineedtime
andspaceandresttodothat.
