Share Your Colors

Exchange Project
5th-14th of July 2016

Ommen, The Netherlands

Dear candidate,
We welcome your interest in the Share Your Colors project. You are about
to read the Infoletter connected with the project and the exchange, which will
take place this July 2016 in Ommen, the Netherlands.

The infoletter contains all basic info concerning aspects of the exchange.
We invite you to read it carefully and if you find that this project is something
for you and your skills, learning and growth, we will be more than happy to
receive your registration form.

Why to Share Your Colors:

What we see and experience in societies around Europe, is that in

the mainstream media and social media there is intolerance, hate-speech,
discrimination and homophobia towards peoples sexual orientation and gender
identity.

Young LGBTQIA+ people face oppression in their countries and in their
own social media environments. In many European countries is dangerous to
speak up for the equality and LGBTQIA+ rights, with propaganda laws existing
obliging people not to speak publicly or in the media, social media about the
topic.

Through this project we will provide to all people participating a safe
space and opportunity for them to become aware of their own self-expression,
growth and active participation in their local community. In this way you can
later on contribute on your own to support the LGBTQIA+ rights in your own
communities.

Goal and context of the YE:

Share Your Colors aims to increase participants sense of
initiative of being active and self-empowered on freely expressing
themselves and sharing their own colors.

One of the main focuses of this project is the implementation
of media (photography and video) and social media as raising
awareness tools, in order to expand the impact and fulfill the aim
of the project. The main raising awareness tool we will implement
is Campaigning.

Mission of the project:

The project aims to combat hate-speech and social exclusion of young
LGBTQIA+ people, while promoting active citizenship through campaigning.

Objectives:
To practice on working with social media and multimedia (video and
photography). How to use social media to raise-awareness on the
topic of sexuality, diversity and LGBTQIA+ rights.
To exchange and practice on how to communicate, send a message
across and create social impact in your local communities.
To increase participants in: cultural awareness and social and civic
competences, mathematical and digital competences, learning to
learn and self-expression competences.
To identify the current LGBTQIA+ rights, challenges and positive actions
in each partner country
To identify and exchange how the hate-speech and social exclusion
of LGBTQIA+ people is happening in Social Media and media in
each partner country and what are ways to combat it.
To launch the online collaborative campaign for raising-awareness on
the LGBTQIA+ equal rights.
To exchange good practices on the topic of campaigning or other
raising-awareness tools

Using playing as a method:

Learning to play, playing to learn.

The way, in which we organize and run this international
Youth Exchange project, is to make the objectives, out line and program
of the youth exchange clear to the participants. In this way we create
a playing field for participants and group leaders, in which we can
play to learn and learn to play.

Within the given group, you take part in the exchange for
yourself and with yourself as an individual. You are the actor of your
own learning and creator of your own experience. By choosing
your own involvement in the exchange, you lighten up the path
to your own learning and desired outcomes.

The diverse activities are created in a way to encourage
self-expression and to support you in discovering your personal
style and connection to self-empowerment and working with media
(photography and video) and social media tools.

To challenge your cooperation, communication and planning
skills and to give freedom to your creativity and greatness. These
activities will be done either individually, in pairs, in small groups
or in the big group. By working
in an intercultural context
together with the rest of the
actors, you have the chance to
create togetherness and support each other throughout
the whole duration of the project,
while enjoying.

Working Methods:

a daily basis. The reflection groups will be with the maximum intercultural
diversity.

different cultures and nationalities
