INTRO: A video posted on Facebook portrayed a man shot by the police who

suddenly began bleeding tremendously while his girl friend recorded the video and
reported post video submission that he died shortly after. Thus video went viral,
causing much uproar in an already tense time racially biased issues being
escalated, but this video was fake. Fake or not, it still had a profound impact on the
viewers who watched the video and it made an already tense situation more hostile.
One man could not take the stress and snapped by shooting at police officers and
civilians alike killing 4 officers and was killed himself shortly after when a robot with
a bomb was sent after him while holed up in a last stand or surrender situation
ensued.
THESIS: The influence of others perspectives over our own is stronger than
ever Because we live In an age of readily accessible information where we have
grown more reliant upon others (read media) for information regarding the world in
which we live, and while we could use more personal sources of authority as
information outlets this is not a viable option for most and is not as credible
As a contemporary rhetorician sponsor, I see our reality being shaped in part
by the portrayals of reality within the media at large.
What is a contemp. Rhet.?
What implication does this have?
How does this vary? Use example like if someone saw chicken birth egg, but
someone else saw egg become same chicken, what does it matter since we either
way we have now have chickens?
Explain importance of media upon reality via rhetoric.

CLAIM: Recent gender identity issue is only relevant because of its
appearance in the media
SUPPORT: Theres only one real culture war worth watching right now, and
its a sideshow indeed: the angry bitter white male versus the guilty bitter white
male.
Gender is term of social construct that is not well understood

Based on social norms and views of fem & masc which we have no concrete
def of
Reality is gender-typical situation go like: males are males and females are
females. Atypical varies; celebrant, trans, fluid. Regardless, gender is based on
perceived behaviors and interpreted actions which align to one of two (at any given
time) : male or female. Male and female sex is inherent, gender is based upon
allignment of actions/behaviors. Anyways, gender is complex consisting of mult
interchanging parts (I.e., identities) BUT sex is not. 1 or the other. Sex as a human is
dichotomous in nature not only as male or female, also in that there are distinct
differences as a sexually dimorphic species. Explain how humans are dimorphic.
DEF of DUALITY / DICHATOMY. That means that there are specific innate and
inherent traits which both sexes have evolved specifically for different purposes.
State some here I guess if not too controversial. Thus, the sexes will never be
EQUAL, BECAUSE sexes are different (dimorphic), so each has advantages over
other in different areas. Equality applies to monomorphic species not species
sexually diamorphic. Define monomorphic. Since gender identity is based on
gender, which is based on sex, which is dichotomous and by definition naturally not
equal, it should follow that gender equality is intrinsically not feasible. Hence,
transgender equality is a faccade. Yet a faccade thats gained a massive attention
with the US population. How did this faccade start? STATE. Now, apparent major
issue is all a-buzz when there is no hopes of reconciling reasonable means of
equality for transgender because not only does the transgender only exist in
peoples minds as a social construct, but the transgender has a character flaw
which renders itself into a position for more discrimination than would be
experienced without.
But to what means? [Does the election coming up have anything to do with
it?][Communistic overthrow by proletariat of currently perceived power-elites aka
white male? Controversial but maybe well received by peers in this cat, tho only 3
others so prob not this.] [To strike out at the once powerful yet now seemingly
dandified white-male? Retaliation for transgressions of past? May relate to
retaliation for past transgressions which led to current version of society, in which
these supporters feel angry about/ feel powerless in, thus wish to take power as
means to have influence on world so that world feels better to them ; depression is
facing a problem, which one is powerless to solve. its impossible to become wildly
successful at something without ending up disillusioned by that very thing you
thought would solve all your problems. This is why we can never be 100% happy.]
Perhaps leave reasons why as ambiguous, like *transgenders are facing a pain that
is real, but theyre merely pawns in a larger war on social influence towards
gendered norms*? Put in if necessary leave out if possible.
So,
EXPLANATION: Enforcing equality while ignoring duality is ancillary to
inequality. If equality was an issue, only transsexual people would be pushing for
this legislation, but that 1% is not the ones initiated and forcing this topic. If the
topic were truly just about transsexual people, then there would be no issue.
Transgender are fatefully flawed and any activism to help make lives equal will be
met with bottomless pit for energy and resources. Activism isnt always stupid but
maybe so if your issue is in the news, jk. Transgender bathrrom issue presented by
media, enforced by media, taken up by people/audience of media, those people

made it into a real issue that became present in current political agenda. Would
transgenders use of restroom be a major talking point in politics right now if not for
the media? No, it would not.
CLAIM: The recent protest events near me in Atlanta are but one example for
the powerful influence of the media.
SUPPORT:
What started out as less than 100 people protesting in the streets of
downtown Atlanta turned into thousands of protesters overnight after the
demonstration was broadcasted in the media.
The portrayal of these protestors in the media broadcastings falsely conveyed
a central purpose for protesting racial discrimination.
EX: Black lives matter association link NON PRESENT IN ORIGINAL DAYS
BROADCAST
CLAIM 2: ALT CLAIM: The real issue was not racial discrimination, but
standardized practices of unnecessary use of force within the police.
SUPPORT FROM SOURCE RELAYIN THIS
Social psychology, going with group
Social psych, support of racial issue
EXPLANATION: This false portrayal gave the protest unobjectionable grounds
for unanimous support of the general population as an issue of racial discrimination,
and this false portrayal was also a contributing factor for the exponential rise in
number of protesters.
CLAIM: The black lives matter association has significance in that, the
media conveyed the message for the protest as a racial issue, instead of accurately
portraying it as an issue of standardized practices of unnecessary use of force
within the police.
SUPPORT:
While police misuse of force and racial inequality are both seen as generally
unacceptable, police use of force is a topic that is much more polarized than the
mostly unanimous topic of racial inequality.
Statistical support
To me, protests are a magnet for those who seek to change a situation which
they blame for their feelings of powerlessness.
EXPLANATION: Regardless, without the advertising of the protest to those
unaware of its occurrence the numbers involved would not have likely reached the
15,000 that it did().
Ironic, is it not, that concerned citizens could voice opinion by protesting
standardized practices of unnecessary use of force within the police, only to be met
with unnecessary force by the police, which is exactly what they were protesting to
begin with, all because some protesters reacted emotionally and broke the law

based on unfounded presumptions of prejudice. Without the media, the number of

protestors and length of protest would not have reached the extent to which they
did. In an age of information and technology to access information growing evermore present, the influence of others perspectives are stronger than ever as we
become more reliant upon others for information regarding the world in which we
live.

TGA as a social issue is a sham. There is no real issue at hand in this national
debate other than how is this a matter of concern and what has been impeded by
this issues required re-allocation of resources?
Time and energy invested into this inspection by legal and political leaders alone
has inevitably slowed any true progress that may have been possible in the near
future.
The recent and ongoing debate concerning trans gender rights is an issue than
stems from [confusion and] fear, not a legitimate interest in equality.
Trans gender rights is a topic that has recently become an issue of national interest.
Trans gender bathroom accommodations is a current and recent issue of social
interest and discussion. Trans gender bathroom use is not a serious topic worthy of
national debate, it is not a serious topic worthy of distraction from more pertinent
political and/or legal matters, it is not a serious topic worthy of advocacy (if there
ever even was one),

Who affected now?
If change: who affected? How are once-affected people affected by change? Any
new people this affects?

3 How do trans gender and bathrooms relate? Howd they make it to the public light?

5 Concession. Alt solution, the reasonable one. Ask Who cares

As a man, I am ambivalent as to who or whomever occupies the restroom at the

same time as me, unless we are not planning to use the restroom, but digress. Man,
Woman, child, trans man, trans woman,
This is the story of your imprisonment. Enslavement or freedom: which will you
choose? Reality is construct within the realms society. Society and culture
existentially function as a Matrix and The Matrix is ubiquitous. It is ever-present, it is
all-encompassing, it is all knowing, it is all seeing. From commercials to newspapers
to billboards to Vine videos to social clubs to YouTube videos to Facebook post to
parent conversations to proverbs to jokes to everyday conversation; it is literally
everywhere. From a young age all children are submerged in an institutionalization
of normalcy that baptizes these young men to believe that all girls are princesses
while these young women believe that they are entitled to their own fairytale
stories. Eventually, as they grow, the purifying acid wash of reality starts to set in as
the painful dissolution of humanity begins its tragic descent to chaos. This is the
degenerated acropolis of *refined culture* you begin your journey for selfimprovement in.

The symptoms of a decaying post-modern society leak out in the form of divorce
rates and psycho-social pathologies.
