Question or Problem being addressed

This study aims to answer the following question:
1. In which varying levels of Noni Leaf does the weight of Broiler increased?
2. Is Noni Leaf (Morinda citrifolia) granule an effective ingredient for the production performance
of the broilers?
B. Goals /Expected Outcomes/Hypotheses
The goal of this study is to test the effectiveness of Noni Leaf (Morinda citrifolia) granule as a
feed ingredient for the production performance of the Broilers in terms of weight.

The effectiveness of Noni Leaf (Morinda citrifolia) granule as a feed ingredient for the
production performance of the Broiler was investigated in this study for the purposes of finding for its
effectiveness in terms of weight that may lead to the development of the new feed ingredient of
Broilers which have industrial and economic importance.

1. H0 (Null Hypothesis)
There is no significant difference in the effectiveness of varying levels of Noni Leaf (Morinda
citrifolia) granule for the production performance of the broiler in terms of weight.
2. H1(Alternative Hypothesis)
There is a significant difference in the effectiveness of varying levels of Noni Leaf (Morinda citrifolia)
granule for the production performance of the broiler in terms of weight.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

Materials
Bamboo, coco lumber and plastic screen were used in building the poultry house. Plastic waterers
and feeding troughs made of bamboo were made available to the broilers. Illustration board, plastic cover
and plastic tapes were used for identification of broilers in each treatment. Weighing Scale was used for
weighing the broilers during the study. Notebook and ball pen were used for gathering and recording the
data.

Methods
Noni leaf preparation. Noni leaf was freshly picked from the tree and cleaned it with
water so that there is no dirt in the leaves. Sundried the wet noni leaf and the next day
Shed and cage preparation. The poultry house was prepared before the arrival of the broilers.
It was well cleaned inside and outside and located far from the community. Eight(8) cages made of
bamboo and plastic screen were prepared. Each cage measured 2 by 3ft.

Experimental Diets. Different broiler diets that contain the required level of nutrients were
prepared. The dietary treatment was mixed with varying levels of noni leaf granule. This was done to
evaluate the effects of varying levels of noni leaf granule on the production performance of broilers.
Four experimental diets were used in the study. They are the following: Treatment A- without
noni leaf granule (control); Treatment B 5 grams noni leaf granule/kg feed; Treatment C 10 grams
noni leaf granule/kg feed; Treatment D 15 grams noni leaf granule/kg feed.
The different dietary treatment was fed to the broilers within the whole duration of the
experiment.
Experimental Broilers. A total of fifty (50) broiler chicks were purchased but forty(40) were
used in the study. And the broilers are free from diseases and deformities, have uniform size and color,
high livability and fast growers.
Brooding. The broilers were placed in brooding area upon arrival. Clean and fresh drinking water
with vitamin was given during the brooding period. And after the brooding period, the broilers were
distributed to their respective cages.
Care and Management. Chick booster mash was given to the birds during the brooding period.
Regular cleaning of cages, feeders and waterers was done to prevent diseases. Broiler chicks were
vaccinated against diseases on the 3rd day.

Experimental design. An experimental research design was used in this study to find out the
effectiveness of Noni Leaf (Morinda citrifolia) granule as a feed ingredient for the production
performance of the Broiler in terms of weight. Forty (40) broilers were used and distributed to the Eight
(8) broiler cages. Four treatment replicated 5 times were randomly distributed to the caged broilers with 5
broilers per replicate.

Data Analysis
1. Observe and compare the result of each treatment. And also observe which treatment is
the most effective feed ingredient.
2. Indicate every test result if it is significant or not.
3. Use the table for gathering the weight of the data.
