B. Executive Summary (a) Curricular Aspects: After obtaining autonomous status in 2007, MSRIT is trying to adopt Outcome based Education into practice since 2010 and the OBE based curriculum development is implemented. The curriculum of our programmes is frequently fine-tuned/upgraded to meet the needs of Industry and current research, Our curriculum meets the standards as prescribed by VTU, AICTE, Professional Bodies and other regulatory agencies. The Board of Studies of each Programme/Department typically consists of eminent scientists, academicians from highly reputed Institutions, Industry Professionals and alumni, Further, our Industry tie-ups, and Co-curriculer activities makes the students more competitive and Industry ready. Good number of events/programs on soft skills and professional development are conducted within the campus to enrich the skills of our students. (b) Teaching-Learning Evaluation: The Teaching-Learing methodology is strictly followed as per our documented ISO practice. The continuous evaluation of teaching-learning process is carried out through the Internal/Extemnal audits. The typical teaching practice is divided into Theory: Tutorial: Practical: Self-study components. The teaching-leaming process involves traditional black board teaching, usage of PPTs in the class rooms, facilitating online learning, and project/game/activity based teaming. The evaluation consists of Continuous Intemal Evaluation (CIE -50% weightage of total marks) and Semester End Examination (SEE — 50% weightage of total marks). The CIE consists of Tests, Quizzes, Assignments, Case Studies and Mini Projects. The SEE is conducted for the whole syllabus, moderated by the external examiners, The question papers for the SEE are set by External and Internal examiners. The final grade will be awarded based on the combined ‘marks obtained in both CIE and SEE. (©) Research, Consultaney and Extension: Around hundred of our faculty members are participating in Enhancement of R & D and Institutional Consultancy activities. 75% of our faculty members are participating in many of the Faculty Development Programmes for improved competency. MSRIT has conducted more than 50 faculty development programmes in the specialized areas of Engineering in the last two years. Both faculty and students of MSRIT are very active in research. To facilitate the R&D/Consultancy activities, MSRIT has set up the Centre for Advanced Training and Consultancy (CATCE), Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Centre for Research and Industrial Consultancy. The students and staff are actively participating in the extension activities through NSS/Cultural/Sports, (d) Infrastructure and Learning Resources: The physical infrastructure include ‘more than 100 class/tutorial rooms of 10,000 Sq. mts, spacious laboratories of around 15,000 Sq. mts, and six units of library of more than 3750 Sq. mis. Further, separate Boys common room, Girls Common room, Sports and Gym. Facilities and adequate Hostel facilities are available in the campus. The library has more than 115500 volumes, 28930 titles of books, 65 International Journals, 200 National Joumals, E-Journals as per AICTE norms, E-Vidya (An E-Learning Initiative) facility, Digital library with more than 65 ‘computers, reading rooms and other facilites. (e) Student Support and Progression: An efficient proctorial system headed by the Chief Proctor at the Institute Level and Deputy Chief Proctors at the
