ESL Syllabus

Textbook: English Vocabulary in Use (Elementary)


Course Description: This class will deal with the learning competencies involved in
developing the students Basic English vocabulary and grammatical structures so they can
successfully communicate in English.
Learning Competencies:
Speaking: The students will have the opportunity to use English when communicating
with their teacher and classmates. They will be given some presentation tasks to practice
the new learned vocabulary and grammar structures.
Writing: The students will be writing sentences and dialogues on a daily basis to practice
the new learned vocabulary and grammar structures. They will also write journals and
essays based on the lesson.
Reading: The students will be reading texts which includes sentences and dialogues with
the useful expressions in English.
Listening: Students will be listening statements, proper pronunciation, stress, intonation,
speech rate and rhythm from their teacher.
