1. What was the biggest challenge you faced while planning the lesson?
The biggest challenge that I faced while planning the lesson was trying to figure out how to
make the lesson simple enough in order to speak the lesson in another language, but hard enough
as well to teach a college class. It was also hard trying to learn how to speak the language.
2.

What was the biggest challenge you faced while teaching the lesson?
The biggest challenge I faced teaching the lesson was trying to have the class understand what I
was teaching and trying not to mess up the words in a different language.

3.

What did you rely on the most during your instruction to overcome these challenges?
I relied most on the visuals we used in the PowerPoint. We also used our fingers to help illustrate
and reinforce what we were teaching which was counting numbers up to five in Italian. I also
wrote my part of the lesson on the board which was the Statement of Learning. As teachers we
learn to always write the Statement of Learning on the board and when I read my Statement of
Learning I pointed to each word hoping the students would understand it was the Statement of
Learning. I also started out the same way we were taught how to teach the Statement of
Learning.

4.

Was communication with your students easier or more difficult than you originally thought?
The communication was harder than I thought, but in our lesson we used visuals and
manipulatives, (our fingers on our hands) to help illustrate what we were teaching.

5.

Do you feel you used co-teaching as effectively as you could have?

Yes I feel that we used your co-teaching as effectively as we could have. We all had different
parts in the lesson and we split them up equally. We moved around in the room as well when we
were done with our lesson and the students were working on the worksheet.

6.

Do you feel you achieved your objective? How can you be sure you did or didnt?
I feel that we have achieved my objective because the students were following along and
completing the worksheet as we told them to do. We assessed the students with a worksheet and
went over the worksheet as well. We also assessed the students during the lesson when we had
them repeat the numbers back to us in Italian.

7.

As a student of other groups lessons, what was the biggest challenge you faced?
The biggest challenge I faced was if a group was talking fast and I did not understand what they
were saying. I also had a hard time understanding in the lesson if there was no pictures or hands
on activities to understand the lesson.

8. As a student, what did you rely on most to comprehend what was being taught?
I relied most on visual representations and teachers explaining the lesson very slow in order to
understand. I also relied on manipulatives to comprehend the lesson.
