I have chosen this particular grade level standard because it is something that my son is beginning to work with now. I have
been following him as he grows, learn, and develop throughout his school years. He is going to the second grade and we have a
journey ahead of us. I feel that this particular assessment is and will be effective to those students who are introduced to this method
because it allows them to interact with others and become more informed on reading and learning to read and getting something from
what they are reading. I have been with many children who are older than my son who cant read and or understand what they are
reading. I think that if this method was introduced to them at a young age, they would feel more comfortable with their reading and
understanding what they are reading. I have used some of these methods with the students that I have worked with in the past and they

now feel more comfortable with reading and enjoy doing so.
The instructional strategies are in play so that each child has the ability to learn and grow from where they are and master a
deeper learning experience. This is designed for students to learn from each other and gain a bigger picture from what they have
captured. Growth and learning from a peer seems to keep students engaged with working together and challenging each other to reach
their goals and task. The resource came from one of the websites designed for North Carolina that is fostered for the state standard in
the state that I live. This gives me up to date and relevant information for the schools in my district and state wide information.
My previous understanding of standards alignment has shifted as a result of your participation in this week 2s practice
because it allows me to see a different way of understanding standards and how they are alignment helps our students develop, grow
and learn to the best of their ability. (My thoughts) There are and have been many different methods, solution, techniques, strategies
and theories along this journey of education but the most important things that have stuck with me is there are no one in particular way
to learn or teach. It is how you get the message across and how effective it is to the students learning.
