Prerequisites
System SW v1.0 or higher

Procedure
Read the entire procedure before you start the
removal activity.
WARNING
After turning OFF the copier, turn OFF the circuit
breaker and unplug the power cord and apply
Lockout Tag Kit

If there is a DFE Enablement kit installed (tag

3) proceed to Step 4, otherwise continue with
step 6

__ 4.

Remove the BP PWB (Figure 2)

a) Remove the (4) screws
b) Carefully separate the BP PWB from the
DFE Interface and ESS PWBs by
moving it in the direction of the arrows

Use the ESD kit to handle the PWBs.

__ 1.

Remove the ESS Chassis/Green Controller

from the Printer per Step 2 (PL 2.5 and Item
1.)

__ 2.

Unplug all of the cables and connections

located on the side of the ESS Chassis on
the IOT (Figure 1)
a) Remove the (5) screws.
b) Pull the top handle to remove the ESS
Chassis and place on a flat work
surface.

NOTE: If this system has an OHCF attached, it will

be necessary to disconnect; un-dock and move the
feeder away from the IOT in order to pull the Green
Controller out.

Remove the (2) screws from the DFE

Interface bracket/PWB. (Figure 3)

Install the Memory DIMM (128M) supplied

with this kit in slot (Figure 5 DFE PWB shown
removed)

Insert supplied DIMM

__ b.

Using finger, gently press downward

to secure the DIMM

Remove (1) screw and lift bracket and PWB

upward (Fig 4)

NOTE: Backplane PWB shown installed in photo,

but was removed in prior steps

Lift PWB upward

__ 8.

Perform steps 4 through 6 to reinstall the

DFE interface and BP PWBs if removed in
previous steps.

__ 9.

Install the LYRA3 PWB provided (Figure 6)

Note: Ensure the LYRA3 PWB is mated properly

prior to securing it to the ESS PWB in the following
steps.

Remove / save the (1) screw. (Figure

Verifying operation
__ 1.

Reattach cabling removed in Step 2

__ 2.

Reinstall covers.

__ 3.

Remove the Lockout Tag device.

__ 4.

Connect the Power Cord.

__ 5.

Power ON the system.

__ 6.

Verify DADF / Scanner and System operation

__ 7.

Perform dC945 CCD calibration and White

Reference Adjustments.

__ 8.

Familiarize yourself with the added settings

in the Machine for the new Color Scan

Mate the LYRA3 PWB to the ESS

PWB
Secure the LYRA3 PWB to the
Green Controller (1 screw removed
previously). (Figure 7)

Observe Color Scan selections.

If the Analyst Trainer or Customer IT person

or User with System Administrator Guide has
set up the Scan to Mailbox or Scan to FTP
function, verify Color scanning is working
correctly. If these features have not been set
up, proceed to Call CLOSE.

__ 10. Mark off IOT Tag # 13

__ 10. Reinstall the ESS Chassis in the card cage.
Ensure chassis engages 3 tabs at the top
when inserting.
