I wll engage in a research comes September 2009

Title of Thesis:

If awarded a Scholarship, how will the award further your research objectives:

Prior to the availability of oil and gas resources that underpins the world's economy. It is vitally important for the wellbeing of humanity that these resources are exploited efficiently. Exploiting these resources is a complicated process and
involves the interaction of specialists from a variety of backgrounds. The deployment of technology by business, industry
and government is increasingly bound up with complex economic, socio-political, regulatory, administrative and
environmental issues . As the energy industries reaches maturity new hydrocarbon resources are becoming increasingly
difficult to find. In addition, the worldwide demand for oil and renewable sources of energy is increasing rapidly. The
decline in new discoveries, coupled with increased demand, has resulted in a rising oil price, and so oil companies are
placing more emphasis on efficient recovery and sustainable energy to maintain production and meet increasing
demands ,hence, my subject of interest. There is therefore a need to provide engineers and scientists with the
neccessary knowledge and skills required to continously undertake these tasks. Furthermore , as a Scientist, I am
interested to work at the interface between geology and Petroleum engineering and plays a pivotal role in the efficient
exploitation and long-term recovery of Non-renewable and renewable energy resources alongside the challenges of
complex energy sustainabilities and risk analysis . To perform this task ,the award will enhanced me to
archieve/materialise a diverse set of, skills and knowledge, including the ability to think laterally. That is, I will gain an
advanced technical skills in Chemical engineering, which will ensure that I will be able to (a) translate fundamental
discoveries in life sciences, materials and other high technology areas to commercial exploitation, and (b) adapt readily
to the challenges presented in a diverse range of industrial sectors that can benefit from process engineering
approaches. Secondly, help me understand how discoveries and other ideas can be exploited effectively, including new
company spin-outs, reorganisation of existing company structures, technology licensing. Together with the requisite
knowledge of raising capital, financing, marketing, environmental legislation, sustainability, Thirdly, help me to apply
problem-solving skills within a technical consulting environment, particularly with regard to problem definition, teamworking, project organisation and delivery of project objectives within the constraints imposed by the time and available
information; and provide key skills such that I can have the confidence to express my entrepreneurial flair fully should I
wish to consider the formation of new companies in their future careers.
UK Universities have an intensive excellent academic system. In particular, the University of Manchester is
amongst the best Universities in the world beside, it is a science based institution with a consistence reputation for a
holistic excellence in Postgraduate studies. Also, the University of Manchester practices an equality and diversity and
precisely, have a safe ,and unique environment for both students and staffs. The University of Manchester education
system and in particular, the postgraduate, brings out the best in its students, developing their core technical skills.
Above all, the University offers tremendous opportunities for its students to develop their entrepreneurship interest
through many high calibre activities. Hence, my studies target will be soundly accomplish.

Please indicate the benefits of the research programme to yourself, your employer and the IET:

The rationale of the course is to enhance the attractiveness to employers of highly capable engineers and scientists.
The Course is going to enable me to be highly appealing to industry, government and academia.
Secondly, I will be able to understand how discoveries and other ideas can be exploited effectively, including new
company spin-outs, reorganisation of existing company structures and technology licensing, together with the requisite
knowledge of raising capital, financing, marketing, environmental legislation and sustainability;
Thirdly, apply problem-solving skills within the consultancy environment of a real-world company, particularly with regard
to problem definition, team-working, organisation and delivery of objectives within the constraints imposed by the time
and information available.
The deployment of technology by business, industry and government is increasingly bound up with complex
economic, socio-political, regulatory, administrative and environmental issues. There is thus a need to provide engineers
and scientists with the knowledge and skills required to provide competent leadership in the constructive development
and assembly of technology to their employers. Human survival depends on a continuing energy supply, but the need for
ever-increasing amounts of energy poses a dilemma: With regard to this course , I will be able to contribute soundly the
benefits of energy to the population of my country and the globe without damaging the environment, negatively affecting
social stability, or threatening the well-being of future generations. The solution will lie in finding sustainable energy
sources and more efficient means of converting and utilizing energy.. Sustainable Energy addresses the challenges of
integrating diverse factors and the importance for future generations of the energy choices we make today. Beside, I will
be able to organised plenary sessions to discuss key strategies such as ;importance of Corporate Commitment,Climate
Change Innovative Projects and Climate Neutral Development Guidance, Working in Partnership,Financing Sustainable
Energy and Community Engagement and Consultation, so as to meet the Royal Commission on Environmental
Pollution targets of a 60 percent reduction of CO2 equivalent emissions by 2050
With these opportunities,I will really be more apt to bring a wealth of ideal perspective to IET, beside, I wll be a sound
Associate Member and an Ambassador of the Institution.

Please give any further information about your research, experience, key achievements, professional goals and career
objectives, which may assist the Scholarships Committee in the evaluation of your application:

I will be very grateful to have an opportunity for pursuing a top notch scientific education while at the same time
being able to explore related innovation management and economic issues. The Msc. in Chemical Engineering is the
perfect course for those people who want to explore more in the field of chemical technology. Thus, the flexible structure
of the course will allow me to tailor so as to be technically or commercially oriented. This course will certainly opened
my eyes on the commercial side of the chemical technology industry and obviously have significant influences on the
decision of my career path. I will therefore become very keen on the innovation of technology, especially that of
renewable chemical technologies and the challenging field of energy sustainability.
With my outstanding academics achievements , four science subjects with very good grades at the Advance Level,
Biology "A", Chemistry "B", Maths "A" and Physics "A" while having an honour degree in Physics with a GPA of "3.49
on scale of 4" , alongside my extensive teaching experience, I have a friendly and professional approach, that
demonstrate a lucrative excellent teaching, hence, understanding students needs and uses interactive programmes.
Thus, I always focus on students respective weaknesses, attitude and belief. Furthermore, I influence students to be
knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject area, Maths/Physics ,and as such strengthen and spurs them to move
towards their goals. Finally, I involve them in the problem solving sessions so as to have an active and practical learning
environment .Developed understanding of the importance of both individual team roles and coordination through
problem solving in issues concerning students understanding and other Tutors, hence, all these warrant me and acts
as a "springboard" to indulge confidently and have the commitment to continously impact the relevant acdemics
materials to students especially at the Advance Level.A member of Physical Sciences Association-Teacher Association,
Classmaster.Led a team of 7 in the School Staff ,organising staff rotas to ensure cover throughout the shift to meet
positive recoveries for most of our Students. and enthusiastic about the subject area, Maths/Physics and as such
strengthen and spurs them to move towards their goals. The creative activity I engaged aims at developing a set of
learning activities that foster student creativity and can be infused into Physics curricula of my country. Firstly, based on
creativity literature in western countries, a set of creative learning objectives is developed. For developing and choosing
suitable strategies and activities, a set of rationales that suit my country context is then suggested. Thus, a set of
learning strategies with some exemplar activities in Physics content are developed. Some learning objectives are
proposed for fostering creativity in Physics learning. They involved both cognitive and affective learning objectives. That
is, nurturing the divergent thinking abilities of students, including fluency , flexibility, novelty and elaboration . Hence, a
massive positive archievement for students goals
.Non- academically, I had archieved some technical and personal skills while working as a bicycle mechanic ,beside
being the proprietor of the shop. Also, using some of my space time working as a Gardener and the Migrant farm
worker, specialising in apricot and peach hand picking.
The experience achieved from these works helped to enhanced and broadened my horizon, makes me able to be
divergent in thinking and how to approach problems from different perspectives, able to work as a team and within a
team. These experiences has not only equipped me with some basics technical skills and knowledge ,but also life skills
that are invaluable in any environment, above all, to be competive and able to face challenges within a particular regime.
