What we offer
We are a young and dynamic team, characterised by a keen interest in a variety of research topics
and dedicated to delivering innovative lectures and seminars. Since we focus on empirical research,
an interest in, and preferably sound knowledge of, quantitative research methods is important.
Current research projects include inter-firm collaboration, pharma economics, design and strategy of
young firms, crowdsourcing, open source software and the economics of science. We have strong
ties to the research community and value international co-operation and visibility (e.g. presentations
at international conferences). As a result, we are in a position to offer you an optional research stay
abroad at one of our partner institutes. You will prepare and teach your own classes to bachelors
and masters students. In order to expand your own expertise as a doctoral student, you are
encouraged to take part in the doctoral training courses offered by the Universitys Graduate Centre
and the Centre for Key Competencies.
Your qualifications
We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual with a passion for science and teaching. You
should have an excellent academic background in business administration, economics or fields
related to our research (e.g. computer science; biotechnology). The successful candidate will have a
firm grasp of empirical research methods at the masters level and be fluent in both written and
spoken English (e.g. CEFR level C2 or similar). Prior experiences in teaching at the university would be
an advantage. Most importantly, you should share our enthusiasm for high-quality scholarship with
an academic and societal impact as well as for teaching. If, on top of all this, you are a team player,
open-minded, friendly and willing to take on responsibility, then you are a perfect match for us.
How to apply
Your application should include the following documents: your CV, letter of motivation stating your
research interests and experience, certificate of secondary education, bachelor's and master's degree
certificates and the related (final or preliminary) transcripts as well as a copy of one or two term
papers or your masters thesis. Please e-mail your full application in a single pdf file to
