Organisations across the water sector are looking at how best to address the challenge of
attracting and retaining the right people and providing learning and development
opportunities essential for organisations on-going success. This is particularly critical in
the face of intense competition for talented workers from other high profile industries.
At the same time, there is substantial experience within the sector of successful
initiatives, projects or strategies aimed at securing a talent pool of productive employees
that meet business needs.
In order to enhance the sectors capacity to address critical skills issues within
organisations, AWA is developing a series of good practice case studies in training,
attraction and retention in the water sector that can be exchanged and shared.
Representatives from across the water sector are invited to provide examples and case
studies of initiatives, projects or strategies in the water sector that:
Attracted the right people
Retained the right people, or
Provided the right learning and development opportunities.
Initially, case studies will be posted on the AWA website at
http://www.awa.asn.au/Skills_Case_Studies/ .
