Executive Summary
The main focus of the study is to know the General Banking of Janata Bank
Limited(JBL). This report is conducted to know the functions of all section of general
banking division. The study is conducted based on the both primary and secondary
data. Observation, informal discussion with the employee, annual report and website
are the main source of data. The account opening and closing process, the process of
local remittance products are also discussed in the report. This report also focuses on
the different chaque and bill clearing process and cash receipt and payment process.
Comparison of difference fees and services charges of JBL is made with the Bank
Asia Limited and One Bank Limited. The number of ATM booth of JBL is lower than
that of BAL and OBL. The number of branch of Bank Asia Ltd. and One Bank Ltd. is
significantly lower than Janata Bank Ltd. The maintenance charge for saving account
of OBL is lower than that of JBL and BAL. But the maintenance charge for current
account of JBL, BAL & OBL are same charge. Most of the customer agrees that
service charge of the bank satisfactory. However, the customer of BAL and OBL are
more satisfied with the service charge than that of JBL. JBL should go through the on
line banking as early as possible for better service to the customer Most of the customer
selects OBL and BAL for their quick service. Therefore JBL should take initiatives
like online banking, computerized banking systems to attract more customers.To
attract more clients, Janata Bank Limited should introduce more products & services
comparing to the others bank like online banking, mobile banking.
