Observation
In todays society where technological advancement flourish, people often
times set aside their values or forget them. People do not follow rules and try to
ignore them even if the rules are for their own safety. People tend to neglect traffic
lights when passing through pedestrian lanes. Some of them only base on the vehicles
whether its going to hit them or not and some of them base their actions from other
pedestrians. Only few of them followed the traffic lights.

II.

Problem
How does gender affect the numbers of traffic violators?

III.

Hypothesis
a.) There are more male violators in terms of percentage
b.) There are more female violators in terms of percentage

Analysis:
There are 431 pedestrians in total observed within the 1 hour observation
process. As what from the data gathered, there are 22 male followers and 113 male
violators summing up 135 male pedestrian in all. On the other side, there are 130
female followers and 166 female violators, a total of 296 female pedestrians.
The male gender accumulated 86% violations within the observed subjects
while the female gender only had 54% violations. There is a difference of 30%
violators between the male and female genders. Considering the total number of male
pedestrians and total number of female pedestrians, the data significantly showed that
there were more male violators than female.

VI.

Conclusion
Difference between the perspectives of men and women would most likely
to be the significant factors affecting their behavior toward s traffic rules. And also,
theres no strong implementation of this rules so men were not afraid of violating it.
Therefore, the researchers conclude that more men violate the traffic rule as
pedestrians than women.

VII.

Recommendation
The researchers would like to recommend that the authorities should have
strong implementation in traffic rules focused on pedestrians. The researchers would
also like to suggest to the other researchers pursuing research in relation with this
study to have other factors affecting the pedestrians such as age, time & place, and
other variables.
