METAMORPHOSIS - a verbal note

Bliss at the doorstep
bliss In the backyard
the quest triggers the search
the travel begins
mind wanders
mattes the hair, shaves the head, surrenders to the unknown
disobedient sheep is blessed
the wild growth is delicious
tiger's paw or a butcher's knife
over ripened fruit that falls is no good
someone should shake the tree
the summit is of the same distance from the sky as the foot hill
the journey is long
dream within a dream
a city in mirror image
lotus with thousand petals
the golden egg
the big bang the black hole
across time across space
humiliation
the butterfly with its rainbow body flies above
cool and casual
at the doorstep

in the backyard.
Notes on concepts :
The thousand petal lotus Symbolized in tantric traditions as the ultimate knowledge
is portrayed here as the knowledge engulfing within itself the time and space. The
golden outer petals symbolize the golden egg out of which the universe is created
according to the myth and the lotus itself is a symbol of the cosmos converging
itself into the black hole.
The arched corridors of the Kutralanathar temple, Thiruppudai marudhur temple,
Nellaiyappar temple somehow relates our thought with the butterfly. Tamra sabhai,
one of the five dance halls of Nataraja.
Jainism prescribes the mental purification symbolizing it with the colours of Leshya
relating the same to the tendency of a person towards a fruit bearing tree.
Mohini, the supreme form of desire and the ultimate knowledge admires the
'vishwam' - all that exists, as her 'prathibimbha' - reflection.
Song of the Mahamudra, as told by Tilopa to Naropa, handed down thru the
Buddhist traditions identifies the nine stages of the mind till it attains a calm state.
The mind's original nature is like space;
It pervades and embraces all things under the sun.
Be still and stay relaxed in genuine ease,
Be quiet and let sound reverberate as an echo,
Keep your mind silent and watch the ending of all worlds.

The Periyapuranam narrates the event of Sundaramoorthy Nayanar alighting the

white elephant and being honoured by celestials, reaching Kailasa where Siva
introduces him to all as belonging to his native . The white
elephant does give an insight into the relationship of various schools of thoughts.
