Feel safe
Transport & recreational areas
The 24-hour economy has led to a significant increase in human activity around the clock. Whether
its a production centre, airport, container terminal or industrial site, the activity is non-stop as people
carry out tasks throughout the night and a good lighting is a pre-condition for a safe and effective
work environment. But also the time we use for outdoor recreation has changed, so that people
exercise and sport also more and more during evening hours, where good lighting is key for safety
and enjoyment!

Bring spaces alive

Imagine creating a dynamic space with the power to engage and attract, surprise and delight,
uplift and inspire. One thats so flexible you can change it to reflect every mood and moment
or enhance a corporate identity. Thats the beauty of luminous textile. The new way to express
emotions, add drama and bring spaces alive. Luminous textile is the perfect answer for modern
offices, hallways and stairways that can feel cold and impersonal. It also creates a welcoming
atmosphere everywhere from bars and hotel lobbies to airport lounges.

22

Views and Solutions 2013 1

Creative inspiration
Luminous textile is a revolutionary new way to enhance
interiors with light, texture and dynamic content. It
integrates multi-colored LEDs within textile panels to give
you the ultimate creative freedom. Firstly you can choose
the size and number of panels as well as how you arrange
them. Then theres an array of beautiful white or colored
textiles to choose from including velvet-like fabrics and
delicate weaves. And finally, you have total control of the
dynamic content.
Softened Sound
The soft texture of the panels also soothes the auditory
senses. Unlike hard materials like glass, concrete and steel
that can create acoustic problems, luminous textile helps to
dampen noise and soften echoes. So it can play a decorative,
as well as practical role everywhere from office reception
areas and restaurants to hotels and airport lounges.
Design flexibility
Luminous textile panels come in standard and customized
sizes and can be arranged in numerous ways to bring each
space alive. Create one huge mood wall as a dramatic
backdrop to a room. Follow the rise of a staircase with
staggered panels. Or scatter individual panels across a wall
and spread the content across them. Anything is possible.

Content freedom
Thats the beauty of luminous textile. Use our standard
content portfolio to add decorative effects, produce natural
ambiences or reinforce a brand identity. Or customise the
content to create your own personal look and feel. There
are endless ways to play with color, movement and light.
Kvadrat Soft Cells
The panels are finished with beautiful Kvadrat textiles and
use the Kvadrat Soft Cells acoustic panels with patented
technology to keep the fabric under constant tension within
the aluminium frame. With a choice of rich colors and high
quality textiles you can be sure that the panels will always
look stunning even when the dynamic content has been
switched off.
Explore the possibilities
As a sensory experience luminous textile is like nothing
youve ever seen before. The combination of soft, diffused
light and the aesthetics of the material creates a very special
effect that has an almost dreamlike quality. With design
freedom and fully customisable content, luminous textile
makes the possibilities for mood creation endless.
