DD- Cool Tools on the Web


Purpose: To research, present and teach a software program to
classmates
Instructions: Select one software application that you will TEACH to your
classmates. You may also find your own Web 2.0 site/ app. Use other sites
to find out more information on your software. The software must be
pre-approved before beginning. No groups in the same class may
have the same software and all categories below need to be filled by a class
member.
PART 1: Software exploration.
Work through the software. Develop a Google Slide about the software.
Make sure both partners have access to the Slide.
PART 2: Research the assigned/chosen topic and prepare a 2-3 minute
Google Slide presentation about your topic. Information to include in your
presentation:
a. Identify and describe the purpose of your tool as it relates to
education.
b. Identify and describe the different types of tools within your
category (competition)
c. Free service or Paid subscription.
d. Select one software application to give details about in your
presentation. Dont forget that you know how to use screen
shots!
e. Include how to access: state browser-based or downloaded
software. Indicate if account is needed to access and use.
f. Highlight basic what the software does and benefits of using this
software.
g. Include how/where to access the software
h. Other information relevant to give about the 1 piece of software
you have been assigned/chosen.
2. Make sure you share the Google Slide presentation with your partner.

a. Practice your presentation. Remember to follow correct techniques

You will be assessed on your group dynamics, instructions on using the
software and overall presentation. Refer to the rubric for specific grading
scale for the project.
