Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are internationally competitive, merit-based scholarships provided by the
Australian Government that support citizens of the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to
undertake study, research and professional development programmes in Australia and for Australians to undertake
these programmes overseas.
The Endeavour Scholarshipsand Fellowships build Australia's reputation for excellence in the provision of education,
and support the internationalisation of the Australian higher education and research sectors.

Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships aim to:

Develop ongoing educational, research and professional linkages between individuals and organisations;

Provide opportunities for high achieving individuals to increase skills and enhance global awareness;
Contribute to Australia's position as a high quality education and training provider, and leader in research and
innovation; and

Increase productivity of Australians through an international study, research or professional development

experience.
Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are administered by the Australian Government Department of Education
and Training and form part of the Australia Awards initiative established by the Australian Government in 2009.

Advice for preparing a high quality application for an Endeavour Award

1. Allow sufficient time to prepare a high quality application. Develop a timetable for completing your application
including reviewing the application prior to submitting. Do not leave your application until the last minute.
2. Think about what you are trying to achieve (personally, professionally and academically) through this program.
Clearly outline your goals to give the Selection Committee an insight into your aspirations and demonstrate your
commitment to your selected field.
3. Refer frequently to the Selection Criteria (on the Endeavour Awards website) to ensure that you address each
criterion. The Selection Committee will assessyour application against these selection criteria.
4. Advise your referees that you are applying for an Endeavour Award, their role and the timeline. You may
consider inviting them to review your draft application and provide you with comments.
5. Outline clearly and concisely your reason for choosing your field of study e.g. the relationship to local and
international issues (such as economic, government, social and political developments).
6. Explain the benefits of your proposed program to current issuesand future developments in your host country,
Australia and globally.
7. Provide concrete examples of your past achievements to support your study or research.
8. Outline, using concrete examples, the potential future benefits and linkages which will result from your
proposed program at the individual, organisational and country level.
9. Review,edit and spell-check your application prior to submission.
