Executive Summary
Sunnyside High school is a charter school that seeks to change the status-quo
of public schools in the surrounding area. Our schools offers a program that is built
around technology and its real-world application. Sunnysides goal is to be a leader
in current educational practices for our students rather than keeping up with the
times

Vision Statement
Our world is much different than the one of previous generations. The skills that
our era requires to be a productive member of society have been redefined by emerging
technologies. Our school recognizes this challenge and grounds itself in the principles of
ingenuity, creativity, and leadership. Your child will have the opportunity to be apart of an
organization that prides itself on leading the integration of technology in classroom. We
believe that it is our role to offer an experience which will focus on using modern
technology tools to prepare our students and ensure that they can be versatile in
tomorrow's globalized world.
In our classrooms, technology should not be viewed as a something to supplement
the teachers lessons, but a foundation for which to build learning on. Teachers will design
their lessons plans in a way that creates the perspective that learning in the classroom and
using technology are synchronous. We will present these technologies in a way that gives
them relevance to real-world applications while also giving them the power to drive the
curriculum. We will use technology and share the privilege develop our students with the
community. Student's success will not simply be reflected in traditional letter grades, but
also in assessments of the same principles that we ground our organization. Our students
will be asked to demonstrate our founding principles of ingenuity, creativity and
leadership.

Mission Statement
Our school strives to create an environment that supports the healthy, safe
learning of students, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds, race, gender,
ethnicity, or orientation. We foster our students to participate as active citizens in the
world as they apply their learning in the classroom to a broader context to advocate for
the social justice and well-being of all people. We instill within our students a sense of
social responsibility and responsiveness to an ever-changing, contemporary world. Our

school pilots technology in the classroom that applies critical thinking to real-world
problems, and equips our students with the tools and skills necessary to find resolutions.
As a charter school with vast technological resources, our students will enter the world
with academic vigor, social intelligence, and overall respect for all members of society by
applying their gained knowledge of technology to improve modern day society for
themselves and future posterity in a more globalized world.
