2 - Purpose
The Native Veterans of Southcentral Alaska is organized to educate, assist and provide support
primarily to Alaska Native and Native American Veterans in Southcentral Alaska. The corporation will
also assist all veterans in obtaining services for which they are eligible, including but not limited to
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs services.
It is organized and shall at all times be operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary
or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of
1986 as amended (the "Code"), or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. All
references in these Articles of Incorporation to a particular section of the Code shall include the
corresponding provisions of any future federal tax law and the Alaska Nonprofit Corporation Act, AS
10.20 (the "Act").
Notwithstanding any other provision of these Articles, the corporation shall not carry on any activities
not permitted to be carried on (a) by an organization exempt from Federal income tax under section
501(c)(3) of the Code, or (b) by an organization to which contributions are deductible under section
170(c)(2) of the Code. The property of this corporation is irrevocably dedicated to section 501(c)(3)
exempt purposes and no part of the net income or assets of this organization shall ever inure to the
benefit of any director, officer, or member thereof or to the benefit of any private person. Upon the
dissolution and winding up of the corporation, after paying or adequately providing for the debts and
obligations of the organization, the remaining assets shall be distributed to a nonprofit fund,
foundation, association or corporation organized and operated exclusively for the purposes specified
in section 501(c)(3) of the Code and which has established its tax-exempt status under that section.
