Clarity Settings
Clarity Application used in CDR project depends on Java platform being used in the PC. So Java
Runtime Environment (JRE) should be installed in the PC. Install Java (Only JRE, not the
complete JDK) version as supported by your OS. Then follow the steps below 1. Complete Common Settings for both CRM & Clarity mentioned at point no 1.2.
2. Go to My Computer > Properties > Advanced Properties > Environment Variable
In Environment Variable Window, Click New button, just below the User Variables box. Enter
the following values (exactly as mentioned; you may copy & paste from here) and press OK.
Variable Name
Variable Value
JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS
-Djava.vendor="Sun Microsystems Inc."
3. Appropriate Java Run Time Environment (JRE) version needs to be installed at the user system
depending upon Operating System installed in it. With the environment variable entered as
described in earlier steps you may try newer version of Java (Such as Java 7 or 8). Following are
the Java Versions for various Operating Systems
(i)
For Windows XP Install Java Version 1.5 (i.e. J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11)
as shown below through screen shots.
Note: -With higher version of java other than mentioned above you may get error
messages at login page. Most of the problems in Clarity are due to inappropriate version of
Java installed.
(ii) For Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10 Install Java Version 1.6 (i.e. Java 6 Update 10) as
shown below through screen shots.
Note : With the environment variable entered as described in earlier steps you may try
newer version of Java (Such as Java 7 or 8).
4. Now you need to enter exception for clarity in Java settings from control panel. Go to Control
Panel -> Programs -> Java -> Click Security tab -> Click Edit Site List -> Click Add in new
window -> Write http://clarity.edc.bsnl.co.in in the space provided. Click OK, OK.
