SYMBOLS, ABBREVIATIONS AND TERMINOLOGY

GENERAL AIRSPEED' S TERMINOLOGY AND SYMBOLS
GS

Ground Speed is the speed of an aircraft relative to the ground.

CAS

Calibrated Airspeed, indicated airspeed correct for position and instrument error.
CAS is equal to TAS in standard atmosphere at sea level.

IAS

Indicated Airspeed is the speed shown on the airspeed indicator.

TAS

True Airspeed is the airspeed relative to undisturbed air that is CAS correct for
altitude, temperature and compressibility.

Vfe

Maximum Flap Extended Speed is the highest speed permissible with wing flaps in a
prescribed extended position.

Vne

Speed Never Exceed is the speed limit that must never be exceeded.

Vmo

Maximum Structural Cruising Speed is the speed that never must be exceeded in
turbulent air.

Va

Manoeuvring Speed is the maximum speed at which full or abrupt control

movements may be used.

METEOROLOGICAL TERMINOLOGY
OAT

Outside Air Temperature is the free air static temperature. It is expressed in either
degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit.

International Standard Atmosphere in which:

1.

The air is a perfect dry gas.

2.

The temperature at sea level is 15 C (59 F).

3.

The pressure at sea level is 29.92 in. Hg (1013,2 mbar).

4.

The temperature gradient from sea level to the altitude at which the temperature is 56,5 C (-69,7 F), is -1,98 C (-3,6 F) per 1000 feet.

POWERPLANT TERMINOLOGY
Throttle Lever
Carburettor Heat Control
Tachometer
Cylinder Head Temperature
Choke

The lever used to control engine power.

This control adjusts the air temperature to the carburettors.
Indicates the engine speed in RPM. A flexible shaft connected to the
engine tachometer mechanically drives the instrument.
Indicates the cylinder n 4 head temperature.
This lever command enriches the normal mixture of air/fuel.

Rate of climb

The change in altitude during the time interval.

Demonstrated Crosswind

The demonstrated crosswind velocity is the velocity of the crosswind

component for which adequate control of the aircraft during take off
and landing was actually demonstrated during certification tests.

Land at the nearest airport or nearest site that is usually used as

landing and take off field compatible with aircraft characteristics.

Land immediately

Land at the nearest suitable site with such characteristics as to cause

the least possible damage to the aircraft and passengers.

CENTRE of GRAVITY LIMITATIONS

GENERAL
With the purpose to get the best performances of flight and operations in complete safety, according
to the procedures described in this manual, the aircraft must have employed respecting all the
schemes of load and balancing pointed out in the following pages.
Pilot must consider the limit of weighing and all correlated parameters.
Before the delivery of the airplane, centre gravity position and weight of the airplane are verified.
NOTE: Empty weight & Centre gravity position must be updated after a new weighing, in the
following case:
Substitution and/or modify of one or plus accessories and equipment;
After painting or reparations of fusolage.
Weight and Centre Gravity position must be reported after every relief in the weighing report inside
this manual only by authorized personnel.

Table for verify C.G. position

P1*X1 - (P2R+P2L)*X2
Xt = _______________________
PT
The longitudinal location of the Centre of Gravity (CG) is measured as the distance behind a
reference datum (RD). The location of the CG can be defined by reference to the % MAC.
Maximum anterior limit:
28% M.A.C. correspondent to 373 mms
Maximum back limit:
37% M.A.C. correspondent to 493 mms
The methodology and the conditions for the test of weighed I am following here you bring (P1
value is the weight read to anterior wheel, P2R and P2L are the weight read to on the principal
wheels right" R" and left" L", while PT expresses the summation of the three values).

WEIGHING PROCEDURE
For the weighing of the aircraft, must be respect the followings conditions:
The equipments must be those foreseen by the list related to the aircraft in question.
Must be included the liquid brakes, the oil motor, the liquid antifreeze and the non usable
fuel.
Must be necessary the use of a balance to three independent sensors and sets on the same horizontal
plan and of a thread to lead.
To determinate the empty weight and the position of the Center of Gravity, the aircraft must be
positioned on three autonomous balances, one for wheel. It is fundamental that the longitudinal and
lateral axis of the aircraft are both in horizontal position.
Using the thread to lead, must be determinate the projection to the ground of the plan of reference
RD. From this plan all the necessary measures to the correct application of the computational
formula are brought.
All data must be transcribed on the "Weighing Report", as from the form - A.
CENTRE GRAVITY POSITION REPORT
The first recording of the Weighing Report & the Centre Gravity Position of the aircraft, is effected
in factory before the delivery of the same aircraft.
Every variation due to the installation of new components or reparation or painting, implicate a new
calculation of the empty weight and the relative positioning of the center of gravity.
All data must be transcribed on the "Centre Gravity Position Report", as from the form - B.

FLIGHT PREPARATION
OPERATING LIMITATIONS
Refer to Section 2.
FLIGHT PLANNING
Data required for flight planning is contained in section 5.
WEIGHT and BALANCE
Refer to section 5 for weight and balance limitations
NOTE: Complete all the operations described following with the MASTER KEY OFF ,
DRAIN FUEL
Open the faucet situated in the LH inferior fusolage side, near the principal landing gear structure.
Use a transparent and clean container.
For a correct drain fuel is sufficient scour about 80/100 cc.
Prudence
Is necessary to perform this operation before moving the airplane from the parking for avoid that
the condenses water present on the fuel tank fund is emulsified with the fuel.
Check water presence. Repeat the operation one or more times.
REFUELING
Warning: use only fuel specified in Jabirus operator manual.
Refueling procedure is performed through electric pump commanded from cockpit.
REFUELING OPERATIONS
1) Verify that the pipelines fuel are connected with safety; use the special refueling filtered pipeline
(check refueling filtered pipeline integrity and cleaning)
2) Join the refueling filtered pipeline with refueling faucet in the RH inferior fusolage side, near the
principal landing gear structure. Put the other extremity of refueling filtered pipeline in the external
fuel tank.
3) Start the fuel loading pump and open the refueling faucet.
4) When the refueling procedure is complete,
operation for both tanks.

in case of air aspiration, repeat the drain fuel
