New Jersey health insurers are seeking rate hikes

in 2017 for the Obamacare market, but consumers will
be spared the huge increases that their counterparts in
other states are facing, according to a review of filings
made public this week.
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, for
example, is asking state regulators for a relatively
modest 4.8 percent increase in premiums for Omnia,
the most widely held plan for individuals buying insurance through the health exchange.
I think if you can keep it below 10 percent, thats
great, said Toby Stark, president of the New Jersey
Association of Health Underwriters, a trade group representing health insurance brokers.
The rate proposals were released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. They still
need to be approved by the New Jersey Department of

blowback over his comments critical of the family.
Christie, one of Trumps biggest supporters and
chairman of his transition team, said the parents of
the slain soldier, Army Capt. Humayun Khan, have
the right to say whatever they want, by virtue of
their sacrifice.

Toms River. The officers involved in the fatal encounter have been placed on paid administrative leave, authorities said.
The Ocean County Prosecutors Office has not released the names of the officers but confirmed Tuesday
that, pursuant to common guidelines for investigations
into officer-involved shootings, they had been put on
leave.
A Manchester police officer shot and killed Shine on
Robin Street in Manchester after Shine called 911,
threatened suicide, then brandished a knife when police responded, according to Capt. Jack Sramaty, a
spokesman for the Prosecutors Office and the head of

TRENTON - The last time we saw Chris Christie

this mad, it was Donald Trump-inspired: The governor was all over Ted Cruz at the Republican National
Convention, saying a speech by the Texas senator was
awful and selfish because it didnt endorse
Trump for president.
On Tuesday, Christie was fuming again, essentially claiming New Jersey Democrats have rigged state
politics this coming a day after Trump told voters
in Ohio, Im afraid the elections going to be rigged.
