LAMPARAAN FEST 2015

Before enjoying the Christmas Vacation,

The PHINMA-University of Pangasinan together
with the Supreme Student Council had its
Lamparaan Festival 2015 last December 08, 2015
at Field Area.
The events started with a Mass, followed
by the lighting of PHINMA-UPang Christmas Tree,
and the lighting of the Registered Student
Organizations Stars (which were made of
recycled materials), College Christmas Tree and
College Chorale Competition, and year-end
awards.
The College of Management and
Accountancy won the best local student council,
1st place in chorale competition and 1st place in
Christmas Tree Making. JPIA-PHINMA UPang
bagged a landslide victory, winning the Best
Registered Student Organization and Best
Newsletter.
The said event was ended with a party-a
year-end party.

6TH SRAW & 4TH JAM

The provincial elimination for the 6th Search for
the Regional Accounting Wizards and 4th Junior
Accounting Masters was held last January 11, 2016, at
the Lyceum Northwestern University and was joined by
the JPIA UPang students.
The SRAW is a team competition, in which each
team shall be composed of three members who are at
least 3rd year BS Accountancy students. The JAM is a pair
competition open to 2nd year and 3rd year BS
Accountancy students.

The 6th Search for the Regional Accounting

Wizards and 4th Junior Accounting Masters was
held on January 11, 2016 at the Lyceum
Northwestern University Gymnasium and was
joined by the JPIA UPang students.

Only the top 15 overall qualifiers from

Pangasinan, Ilocos, and Baguio hub shall advance to the
Final Round which was held during the 7 th Annual
Regional Convention.

ANNUAL REGIONAL CONVENTION 2016

The Annual Regional Convention is the academic yearend event of the NFJPIA Region 1 and Cordilleras and is filled
with a seminar, academic and non-academic competitions, and
the election of the new set of regional officers for the following
academic year.
The event was conducted at Fiesta Garden Hotel, Guimod,
Bantay, Ilocos Sur last February 23-25, 2016.
After registering on the said event, students from
different chapters gathered in the main hall for the opening
ceremony. Afterwards, academic and non-academic competitions
started.
Events were ARC CUP 1 (Financial Accounting and
Reporting), ARC CUP 2 (Management Accounting and Control),
ARC CUP 3 (Business Law), ARC CUP 4 (Taxation), ARC CUP 5
(Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting), ARC CUP 6
(Auditing), Search for Regional Accounting Wizards-Final battle,
Junior Accounting Master-Final battle, TV Shows Quiz bee, Bible
Quiz Bee, 90s Kid Quiz Bee, Spelling Bee, Music Quiz Bee, Officers
Encounter, Interview for the Most Outstanding Local Chapter,
Local Chapter President, Local Chapter Officer, and Most
Outstanding JPIAN, Campus Journalism, Company Talk (SGV and
the Topnotchers), Thats my Bae, JPIAN Idol, Kalokalike and the
Year-end Awards Night.
The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants PHINMAUPang Chapter participated in this endeavor and took 31 of its
members to battle against other local chapters.

FULMO. The said event is composed of

Differences, JPIA PHINMA UPANG had
their first Awards Night last March 11,
2016 at the PHINMA University of
Pangasinan Gymnasium.
The Incandescence and MAC Band
were invited to be part of the said
event.

Mr. Mark Christian Reyes, the

former Local Chapter President and
a Board Passer, was the Guest of
Honor and Speaker. It was also
attended by the Region 1 and CAR
JPIA President Mr. Arvince Dylan
Tabamo.
The team AERO won this years
title for the OVERALL CHAMPION.
The event ended with happy smiles,
cheers and sweet good byes for the
turnover ceremony. Awarding of
certificates
and
plaques
of
recognition for the people who truly
gave out their support and time for
the organization.

BUSINESS WEEK

The College of Management and

Accountancy Student Council (CMASC),
the mother organization of Junior
Philippine Institute of AccountantsPHINMA UPang Chapter, held its annual
fest celebration last January 21-22, 2016
in PHINMA University of Pangasinan.
On the first day of the event,
booths of 4 sub-organizations of CMA
were installed in the Field Area of the
university, Executive runway and quiz
bees- General Knowledge, Business
Knowledge, and Tag-line.

The JPIA- PHINMA UPAng

booth was organized by the
Executive Officers and their Junior
officers, with their theme of JPIA @
its BEST. They showed the
elements of pride and fun, they sold
JPIA merchandises as well.
Second days events were
Amazing race-Faction Race, and
Awarding Ceremony. Jinrisha Rosal,
Jahaziel Ulaso, and Willy Callao won
the 1st place in General Knowledge,
Jomarc Malicdem, Jahaziel Ulaso,
Jinrisha Rosal won the 1st place in
Business Knowledge.
JPIA-PHINMA UPang won
the Best in Sales Booth 2016.

NATIONAL MOCKBOARD
EXAMINATION 2016
The National Mockboard Examination 2016, spearheaded by the
National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants
(NFJPIA), and in cooperation with Regional Federation of Junior
Philippine Institute of Accountants Region 1 and Cordillera
Administrative Region (RFJPIA-R1&CAR) was held last February 14 and
February 20, 2016 at PHINMA-University of Pangasinan for the
Pangasinan hub.

PRESIDENT
Tax Updates and Forum with the
ASEAN Federation of Accountants President
Hon. Estelita Aguirre, organized by the
Phippine Institute of Certified Public
Accountants together
with Regional
Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of
Accountants Region 1 and Cordillera
Administrative Region (NFJPIA-R1CAR) was
held last January 18, 2016 at the CSI Stadia
Hall 3, Dagupan City.
The forum wrapped up a number of
students who were taking up BS
Accountancy, Accounting-related courses
and CPAs in Pangasinan. The AFA President
reiterated their commitment in supporting
the betterment of the accountancy
profession in the region.
As President Aguirres term come to
an end, the current Deputy President,
Sonexay Silaphet of the Lao Chamber of
Professional Accountants and Auditors
(LCPAA) will be appointed as the President
of AFA for the period of 2016 - 2017. Under
her leadership, AFA has made significant
progress that will further prepare the
Federation in further contributing to the
profession having enormous contributions
to both AFA and the accountancy profession
in the ASEAN Region.
PICPA Pangasinan Chapter Officers
and NFJPIA-R1 Officers congratulated her
and wished her the very best on her future
endeavors.

It is an event for which different aspirants from different regions

were gathered for 2 days to test their knowledge and skills in answering
6 Board Exam subjects namely Financial Accounting and Reporting,
Advanced Accounting, Management Accounting and Control,
Auditing, Taxation and Regulatory Framework for Business
Transaction.
The JPIA-PHINMA UPang has its 12 examinees, 4th year Bachelor
of Science in Accountancy students, who took up the National Mockboard
Examination.
