Assists Group and Deputy Director to develop, establish, and maintain program and
administrative policies for the Coverage and Analysis Group (CAG).
Serves as the lead contact for carotid artery stenting (CAS) initial facility approval, facility
recertification, and data submission requirements. Reviews, processes and responds as
appropriate to facility approval and recertification letters as well as CAS policy inquiries
according to the standards identified in section B4 of the national coverage determination
(NCD) for Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA).
Serves as IDE Clinical Trials Workgroup member to assist in establishing CMS criteria for
determining coverage.
Evaluates administrative policies and program issues to better assess feasibility and
consistency of operations. Established and maintains an effective system for the control and
dissemination of reports, documents, and information for CAG.
Reviews incoming mail requiring the direct attention of the CAG Director, including highly
confidential material, and routing as appropriate.
Serves as liaison for external stakeholders (including high level Federal and State officials,
health officers, and representatives of private organizations and/ or foreign governments).

Serves as correspondence liaison for CAG and ensures that appropriate procedures are
followed to process correspondence timely.
Makes conference arrangements, secures space, equipment, and accommodations, and any
services necessary for the various meetings and conferences, including those external to
CMS; collates power point presentations and background documents as well as compiles,
edits, and distributes relevant agenda and background information.
Monitors and tracks key deliverables and reports on the progress to CAG management.
Provides clarification and guidance to CAG staff and managers in preparing, reviewing, and
maintaining the assigned time and attendance records through ITAS for CAG.
Consistently provides program and administrative updates to the Director, including updates
on, scheduling items, emerging issues, upcoming official travel, policy related, and other
pertinent issues.
Serves as the lead for the Groups administrative budget. Produces, compiles and reviews
travel, supply and training budget requests.
