FCE Speaking Skills Course

in Second Life

Today is the first class of the Avalon FCE Speaking Skills course, and because of
this we will be spending some time getting to know each other and practising part
one of the First Certificate Exam.

The FCE Speaking Skills course

Our Speaking skills course has been designed to help you prepare for the
Cambridge ESOL First Certificate in English speaking part of the exam. There are
four parts to the Speaking paper and each of the four classes will help you with a
different part. In the remaining two classes, you will have the chance to practice a
whole exam and receive tips and advice on improving your performance.

Class 1 – Introductions (Part 1 of the FCE speaking paper)


Class 2 – Long turn (Part 2 of the FCE speaking paper)
Class 3 – Pair discussion (Part 3 of the FCE speaking paper)
Class 4 – Group discussion (Part 4 of the FCE speaking paper)

Before Today's Class: (1 hour)

Please make sure you have:


• registered in Second Life and downloaded the software *
• finished the Second Life orientation
• notified me (graham.stanley@britishcouncil.es) of your Second Life name
• joined our group in Second Life (I will send you an invitation)
• registered at this site http://fcespeakingskills.grouply.com/
• introduced yourself in our forum on this website
• taken the pre-course survey: http://tinyurl.com/399d7he
