1. SCOPE OF WORK
Fabrication (Pipe & pipe sleeve) and installation on existing grit chamber B44D-001 as per tiein isometric Drawing No. SK-LB-1059-001-A.
This work phase shall include HDPE Pipe Spool installation, surface
preparation of HDPE pipe, fitting and other miscellaneous materials as
detailed on the drawings and per manufacturers recommended procedure.

SAUDI ARAMCO Scope
of Work:
1) Isolate the designated grit chamber B44-D-001 connected to tiein as
required STP.
2) Hand over the existing grit chamber B44-D-001 to the contractor to
commence the tie in execution.

CONTRACTOR Scope of Work:


1)
Identify the exact location of tiein.
2) Ensure area is secured & all required safety equipment
is available & operational.
3)
Ensure all materials & consumables needed to complete the work
have
been checked & are available at tiein location.
4)
Provide all safety equipment required as detailed in the work permit.
6)
Ensure the fire watch is available at all times.
7)
Remove the redundant pipe piece & scrap materials.
8)
Prepare with required materials for Tiein # TR-SW-001.
9)
Proceed for Client & Contractor QA/QC inspection.
10) Remove scaffolding or personnel reach equipment.
11) Hand over the line package back to SAUDI ARAMCO.

5.TIE IN PROCEDURE
1.0 PURPOSE
To ensure that the tie in shall be performed by Contractor and carried out in a
safe and eficient manner. This procedure describes the steps, sequence of
events, responsibility, authority and documentation requirements to ensure
that the specific task to meet SAUDI ARAMCO requirements and industry
codes.
2.1 SCOPE
2.2

Planning and Preparation


The tie in work planning is to be prepared in accordance with Tie-In schedule.
Close coordination meetings shall be held as required at site in order to
establish and update the detailed tie in schedule among all involved
parties, SAUDI ARAMCO and Contractor.
Identify Tie-In(s) schematic location on P&ID
Review with Piping drawings
Create a Tie-In Index (or List) with key information about Tie-In
Review with PMT
Go to the Field to locate physical point of Tie-In
Meet with plant personnel and review Tie-In requirements
Visually inspect the existing grit chamber.
Mark or tag the selected Tie-In point according to plant supervisor
recommendation.
Photograph of tie-In point
Draw sketch and take all required measurements
Convert all field sketches into appropriate production drawings
(Isometrics and detail drawings)
Finalize (check, correct and submit for approval) Tie-In isometric
drawing.Involved parties shall
identify lines/equipment to be used.

Material Handling
Material handling method such as identification and storage shall be
carried out in accordance with the requirements of SAES L 350, Section
6 and 7.
In addition, each material item and fabricated spool shall be identified and
delivered to site as tagged or bagged with individual tie in number.

Site Preparation
Prior to fabrication, actual dimensions at tie in location shall be measured
for back check of the piping design drawing.

2.5

Tie in Work Execution


Tie in work execution shall proceed in accordance with tie in checklist
and tie in schedule. All safety precautions must be reviewed and
endorsed by RRD/PMT and AGC safety oficer.
Wall coring shall start under the witness of all involved parties Saudi Aramco
and Contractor after approved by Saudi Aramco Operations.
The Contractor shall Paint new items and repair damage painting
or coating during Construction.

PROCEDURE "STEP BY STEP"

Preparing all required equipment prior to shutdown

Fabricating pipe spools at workshop acc. to DWGs, P&IDs, ISO.

Spools transportation to site

Once Operations has prepare the system to allow for the tie-in, the work crew
shall obtain a work permit. The permit also identifies required special
protective equipment such as gloves, acid suits, breathing mask, etc.
All hot activities such as drilling, grinding, cutting, lifting, etc. shall be listed on
the permit.

Installing permanent and temporary supports

Upon completion, the tie-in will be tested in accordance with Saudi Aramco

5.1 RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Manager
Ensure compliance by all parties to this procedure, the Project Quality
Assurance Manual, QC Inspection Plan, and relevant Saudi Aramco
Specifications, drawings and Industry Codes.

5.3

Mechanical Engineer and Crew Supervisor

Report directly to AGCs designated Site Construction Manager and coordinate


with AGCs Safety Personnel and SAPMT to ensure that all activities are
completed in a safe and eficient manner and, to AGC Mechanical QC
Inspectors for the necessary inspection in each phase of job execution.
Crew supervisor/Mechanical Engineer shall also be responsible for all Piping
works necessary
as detailed in the Construction Scope of Work in accordance with this Quality
Control Procedures and applicable Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards and
Specifications and Applicable Industry Codes.

Client Engineer shall be responsible for the issuing of approved for


construction drawings and ASB (As Built) drawings will be submitted by
contractor field engineer when the work is complete.
The PMT Representative and AGC will join together to coordinate all
preparations necessary to perform the tie-in, including assembly of material
needed during the actual tie-in period, temporary support.

5.3 Mechanical QC Supervisor


Responsible for conducting Quality Control Inspection and testing for the
grouting activities covered under the Construction Scope of Work. He
shall raise Request for Inspection (RFI)
for Witness and/or Hold Points in compliance with applicable Saudi Aramco
Typical Inspection Plan (SATIP) to SAPMT. He shall also ensure that all work
executions are adhering to this Quality Control Procedures and that all
pertinent QC records and necessary documentation are in order and finally
handed-over to SAPMT in organized manner.
Coordinate with Mechanical Supervisor and Foreman for the smooth
execution of work and to the satisfaction of Quality Control.
Client Q/C Engineer shall be responsible for all quality control and
documentation to be done During field installation activities.

START TIE IN WORKS PREPARATION


1. Weld procedures are located at site and welder qualified
for HDPE Butt Weld.

1. Blow air into the pipe through blower to remove
accumulated dust or any foreign material in the pipe
2. The surface of the pipe to be fused and the interior
surfaces of the fitting
must be absolutely clean, dry and free from any grease. Clean
with a cleaning agent and exclusively with absorbent, lintfree and non-dyed paper directly before the assembly and
after scraping. When cleaning, ensure that no contaminations
from the un-scraped pipe surface are introduced into the

The HOPE pipe can be used in place of RTR Pipe for buried sections of lines as an alternative
materialwith all other system design parameters as per latest FW SOFCON design drawings, data
sheets & specifications.

Contractor should follow and implement all relevant Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards, ASTM Codes,
Pressure Class, Buried depth cover, Tie-in schedule, Meta l to Non-metal Joints for HOPE pipe service.

Material colour codes for Potable Water, Raw Water, Sanitary Waste Wat er and Fire water shall be
followed by manufacturer. HOPE Pipe with four of red marks for fir e water line.

HOPE Pipe for Fire Water service will be ULIFM approved.

Saudi A ramco approved manufacturer I vendor 9COM should be preferred to use.

Changes in design drawing I shop drawing due to HOPE pipe implementation


should be incorporated and submitted to Saudi Aramco for review & approval
before starting
onstruction by (AGC) construction contractor.

Pressure class for each service pipe shall be as per the latest design.

Pipes crossing through roads and structures should be followed as per standard.

Note: Khurais CPF Well Raw Water Supply Pipes as per new change order: Earlier (27 Oct. 20 15)
approved "Raw Water Transmission HOPE 8 Inch Pipe" (for Khurais Water Wells to PMT Camp-4)
