Instruction :
1. Student must record their daily tasks in the logbook.
2. Every task must be followed by a remark such as completed or pending.
3. Each entry of the logbook will represent a weeks tasks. When jobs are completed, the entry
must be checked and approved by company supervisor.
4. All related documents such as MC, must be attached to the particular page.
5. The logbook is one of the documents to be checked by AS during the practical visit.
6. The logbook must be submitted with the practical report.
7. Students should be responsible for any loss or damage of the logbook by informing
supervisor immediately.

1.0

INTRODUCTION

This Industrial Training is one of the requirements for all eligible, final semester, graduating
students of Kolej Poly Tech MARA Diploma Programs. The main objective of this practical
training is to give students vast exposure on a real challenging working world.
Students will be able to apply the skills that they have obtained throughout their academic
years. In addition, they can enhance their knowledge and abilities at the participating
companies.
This internship is also a shared social obligation for both KPTM and the companies involved.
KPTM practical students will assist institutions/organisations in handling appropriate jobs. At the
same time, it also allows KPTM in identifying industries' current needs, hence fulfill them
Therefore, KPTM will be able to strengthen its curriculum and produce graduates who are
market-ready.

2.0

RECOMMENDED PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES

Tasks assigned to students should be agreed by both parties industrial and academic
supervisors.
**Students may be given more than one major task to be done individually or in group.

3.0 RULES AND REGULATIONS


During the practical training, students are bound by the rules and regulations of Kolej Poly Tech
MARA. (Please refer to Buku Panduan Peraturan Pelajar and Buku Panduan Akademik). At the
same time, students also need to follow and comply with all rules and regulations set by the
company.
All sick leaves taken must be proven by the doctors medical certificate and if the students need
any leave, they have to follow the company procedure.
Failure to comply with the above-mentioned regulation may affect students practical result.

4.0 PRACTICAL TRAINING SUPERVISION


Supervision is required to ensure that students are given appropriate duties. The supervisors
are:
i.

Academic Supervisor (AS)

ii.

Industrial Supervisor (IS)

AS will contact the IS and trainees from time to time to monitor the practical progress. Practical
visits are conducted once by AS during the training (subject to change). It aims to evaluate
students' performance. AS will interview the IS and the trainees to assess trainee's
performance. AS will discuss with the IS about the trainee's overall performance and any areas
of improvement.
The students also need to fill in the logbook which will be checked and validated by IS. They
have to record all tasks performed each day.
If the students are unable to perform their duties as assigned or they fail to follow the company
regulations, kindly inform AS or the ITU immediately so that corrective action can be taken.

5.0 OVERALL EVALUATION


The ITU will evaluate the students' performance based on the evaluation form by IS, AS and
Industrial Training Final Report.
The Industrial Training assessment marks will be included in students' GPA. The evaluation is
as stated below:

WORK ETHICS
As temporary employees of organisations, students must adopt the organisations ethics. Below
are some of the suggested work ethics that students must observe:
1. Show willingness at all times however ordinary the task is.
2. Adopt a responsible attitude. Take your placement seriously.
3. Follow all the company rules and regulation.
4. Always be punctual and properly dressed.
5. Produce quality work within the duration given. Use your time wisely and be proactive.
6. Start a project with a proposal and prepare the Gantt Chart.
7. Inform the IS immediately for any absence with a valid reason.
8. Show maturity and not regard yourself as a student. You are part of the workforce.
9. If you are unsure on how to deal with certain task, seek assistance from your
supervisor. Always ask for opinion when needed.
10.

Develop good rapport with your supervisor and other colleagues at all times. Use the
right approach and appropriate greeting in communicating with others.

Requesting for allowance from the company is prohibited.

12.

Adopt positive attitude such as honesty, compromise, friendly, team player etc.

13.

Be prepared for any unpredictable circumstances.

14.

Handle pressure wisely. Never give up.

15.

Use all the knowledge acquired over the course of study to perform all tasks given.

Value the working experience gained and apply it in the future.

17.

Be professional in ALL aspects; at ALL times.
