(b) An ac induction motor is rated at 1750 rpm with a line frequency of 60Hz. If
the motor is operated on a 50 Hz line, what will be its approximate speed?

is done in assembly language instead of being written in machine code directly by

7. (a) Describe the basic steps of operation for a PLC after it is turned on.
(b) What will happen if the scan time for a PLC is greater than the time for an

8. When tuning a three mode control system by the ultimate cycle method it was
found that oscillations began when the proportional band was decreased to 20 %.
The oscillations had a periodic time of 200 sec. What are the suitable values of
