(A) SYNOPSIS
HUMAN FACTORS course introduces students to the human factor which is a crucial
element in the field of aircraft maintenance. The human factors elements explain how
social, cultural, physical and psychological factors may affect the performance of
maintenance personnel. Case studies concerning aircraft accidents/incidents and
methods of avoiding maintenance related errors are discussed.
(B) COURSE LEARNING OUTCOME (CLO)
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. analyze the human factors elements that may affect the performance of maintenance
personnel. (C3, PLO1)
2. evaluate on human factors concerning aircraft accidents/incidents and methods of
avoiding maintenance related errors. (C4, PLO3)
3. explain the physical environment at the workplace that could have an effect on the
human performance. (A3, PLO11)
