Primary Track: Professional practice: Pain and pain management
Course title: NEURAL PHYSICAL THERAPY: INDUCING PAIN MANAGEMENT AND NEUROVEGETATIVE AUTOREGULATION Presenter(s): Moura Filho O.F.d.1, Moura A.M.S.2 Affiliation(s): 1Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa em Fisioterapia Clinica, Director, Teresina PI, Brazil, 2Physios Clinica de Sade Funcional Ltda., Physical Therapy, Teresina, PI, Brazil Learning objectives: 1. To understand the neurovegetative imbalance, nociception and how to stimulate the neurovegetative system for pain management. 2. To diagnose neural as imbalance generator of diseases and painful musculoskeletal conditions. 3. To plan treatment interventions w ith Neural Therapy, using procaine or lydocaine on the segmental body organization. Level of Learning: Multiple Description: The course show s the theoretical and practice issues about the Neural Therapy in according to Huneke. The method consists in stimulate neural points over the skin, dermatomes, ganglia or neural trunks w ith needles and a neuraltherapeutic (procaine or lydocaine) from 0,5 to 1.0 % (low concentration), controlling interference fields and establishing a new celular functional background that stimulates the normal electrical potencials transport and a new rest celular membrane potencial w ithin physiologic levels. Implications / Conclusions: This method is now managed by physiotherapist in many countries and improves the resolutive intervention w ith a refinated technique for pain management and neurovegetative regulation of segmental and or systemic functions. Key-Words: Target audience: Physical Therapists w ith interest in pain management, injectable procedures and neurovegetative balance. Summary of session format: The session w ill be developed w ith personal presentation of theoretical bases of Neural Therapy in according to Huneke managed by physical therapists, case presentations and practical demonstration. Audience size: 40 Room set up: Lecture theatre w ith 42 chairs, one table and one bed. Equipment requirements: Bed, high-definition multimidia projector w ith HDMI for Mac and audio system for voice and computer audio. Preferred date, pre or post Pre congress (1May 2015) congress: Course length: Half day (3-4 hours contact)
