3. This book covers a glorious chunk of time in the Dallas Cowboys history. It first tells the story of
Michael Irvin. Irvin was known as The Playmaker by teammates and fans. However, he spent a
lot of his free time breaking the law for fun. He was commonly entertained with cocaine,
marijuana, and strippers and prostitutes. He was also known to be slightly violent occasionally.
He may get caught punching or shoving someone who angered him. In the first chapter, this
book reveals Irvins darkest secrets. It follows up these secrets with his punishments for them.
Michael Irvins punishments consisted of community service hours, some game suspensions, and
temporary probation periods. He and a teammate were once caught with over 10 cocaine grams, over
an ounce of marijuana, and paraphernalia. Neither of them did any time. They just received community
service hours, game suspensions, and probation. It is commonly stereotyped and rumored that
professional athletes do not ever receive the punishment they deserve. Many believe that team owners
and the American public are more concerned with a good game than an equal justice system.

This book starts its story with Michael Irvin, because the whole story outlines the Cowboys road to
the Super Bowl. Each chapter tells a different story about this road. Some review the players crimes and
the overlook that followed them, keeping some of Americas best players, playing. Some tell stories of
incredible instances at specific games leading up to the Super Bowl. All in all, the message in the book is
exactly its title. The author uses the history of the Dallas Cowboys as an example to reveal its ultimate
message that boys will be boys.

3. The author, Cody Monk, was born and raised a Cowboys fan. He grew up in West Texas, where,
he says, football reigns as the areas most favored sport. The weekends in West Texas start on
Thursday nights, when the junior league football teams play each other. Friday nights heat up
when two towns play each other. Then Saturday everyone watches their favorite Texas college
teams.
There are six most favored college teams in Texas. The TCU Horn Frogs, the Baylor Bears, Tech
Rough Riders, UT Longhorns, A&M Aggies, and the SMU Mustangs. There are also the two NFL
teams: the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys. However, there is only one team that West
Texas cheers for. That team is the Cowboys.

This book introduces West Texas love for football, then progresses into its love for the
Cowboys. He then tells the athletic backgrounds and family stories of the Dallas Cowboys
legends, all the way up through 2013. He covers Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman, and Emmit Smith.
He shares where they came from, what they did in college, and their accomplishments for the
Cowboys. Monk finishes the book telling about Texas Stadium; how it became, how many it
holds, who helped build it, etc.

3. This book tells more than just the stories of the Cowboys most famous and valuable players. This
book tells the process of becoming a Cowboy. It starts in 1973 after the Vietnam War. It tells
how veterans returned ready to play. It describes the general experience with football after war
and how the team changed for the better.
The story then discusses the training, tryouts, and conditioning the players go through before
seeing the field on a game day. It describes the equipment, staff and tools needed to run a
successful football team. For example, doctor staff and exercise equipment. The expenses in
training and upkeep for the team and field are high. This means that the fan base is extremely
important to keep, in order to keep ticket purchasing alive and money flowing throughout the
team.
Once the backgrounds in professional football and its history are revealed, the book goes into
the actual games, players and coaches that exemplified the Cowboys Glory Days for 25 years.
These include the Pro Bowl, the different owners like current Jerry Jones. It included the Danny
White Years and the road to the Superbowl. This book covers the Cowboys macrohistory,
without zoning too far into specific players personal lives.

3. The book explains in detail all of the different aspects to teaching English as a second language.
It starts by emphasizing that before teachers learn to teach anything specific, they must learn
how different languages use their tongue when they speak. The different tongue moving
methods are what cause/create accents in foreign language speakers. If the teacher can
understand these different movements, then he/she may be able to describe how to use the
tongue differently according to the language being spoken.
The book then tells the different ways to teach different language aspects. First, it covers how to
teach pronunciation. There are two methods for this. The first method does not require perfect
pronunciation when learning new words. As long as the word is understandable by a native or
non-native speaker, then the teacher may accept it. This method teaches pronunciation later,
once the language is mastered.

The second method requires students to achieve perfection in their pronunciation before
moving on to learning new words. This method may be considered better in the long run,
though it will take longer overall. It is considered better, because it avoids the occurrence of
awkward situations for foreign speakers with native speakers. Native speakers may get sick of
trying to understand funny accents/pronunciations and not want to speak with the foreign
speakers anymore. The foreign speaker could even appear as unintelligent. The book covers
lessons like pronunciation and stacks the rest of its teaching methods in order from there.
