NEONATAL RESUSCITATION PROGRAM - NRP

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Healthcare professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation.

This includes pre-hospital emergency personnel, physicians and
physicians assistants, nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse midwives,
licensed midwives, respiratory care practitioners and other health care
professionals who provide direct care during neonatal resuscitation.

COURSE AIM

This course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to

resuscitation of the newborn. The causes, prevention, and management
of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia are carefully explained so that health
professionals may develop optimal knowledge and skill in resuscitation.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Demonstrate knowledge of neonatal resuscitation by successfully
completing the NRP online written test
Identify necessary staff resources and equipment for every birth
to ensure readiness for a complete resuscitation
Name the most important and effective action in neonatal
resuscitation
Demonstrate appropriate resuscitation procedures in proper
sequence for a compromised newborn through self-instruction
and team practice at various skill performance stations
Discuss special neonatal considerations that may be encountered
and appropriate care
Identify neonatal resuscitation skills and aspects of teamwork that
are well developed and those that require continuing
improvement through simulation-based training and debriefing

NEONATAL RESUSCITATION PROGRAM

ACCREDITATION

The NRP course is developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics

(AAP) and the American Heart Association (AHA). The course is
Accredited for 5.5 Category 1, Continuous Medical Education (CME)
hours by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD)

On successful completion of skills and written testing, the

participants will receive the following:
Uniteam Certificate of Attainment (with HAAD CME accreditation
I.D Number)
ASSESSMENT

Achieving the required standards in the following tests is mandatory in

order to obtain the Uniteam Achievement Certificate accredited by
HAAD:
