Analysing electrical energy and power in real life
Students should be able to:
Learning Outcome
1. Solve problem involving electrical energy and power
2. Compare appliances in terms of power rating, energy consumption
Learning activities:
Induction set
Look at image of 2 electricity bills with different amount.
CoRT skill: C&S
Activity 1:
Students organised themselves into a group of not more than four.
Students are required to discuss and list out the factors affecting the amount of the
electricity bills.
CoRT skill: CAF
Students are to post their results of discussion at one corner of their Mahjong paper / manila
card.
All stay, 1 stray: One student from each group to go around the class and compare results of
discussion. The student is required to pick up different ideas from other groups.
At the end of the activity, all groups will have achieved the same amount of factors.
Activity 2:
Handout will be distributed.
Students are required to discuss in their respective group & solve mathematical problem
involving V=IR and P = IV and efficiency
The teacher will alternately move around the class as the facilitators.
Teacher will give out the answers.
Students must consult other group for correction.
Activity 3:
Students are given one problem involving electrical energy in daily life.
Students to solve given problem & pick a design.
