For Ongwanada, the Plan mapped out projects for the

Because the organization was upgrading to a new

version of GP, Ongwanada took advantage of the

their needs. In addition to training, Ongwanada

access everything they needed. In addition to core

finance, purchasing and accounts payable modules,
GP 2013 also gave them access to human resources
and fixed assets. They immediately took advantage
of all these modules! Ongwanada avoided the costs
of new software, maintenance and user licenses of
their old systems.
Another important factor to consider was that
Ongwanada is a not-for-profit. They are required to
meet certain standards to retain their accreditation.
By consolidating their various systems, the data is
stored in a central location. This allows for
employees across all departments to easily access
information required, therefore, making compliance
easier.
The system greatly reduced manual processes for
the finance, procurement and human resources
departments. With system workflows set in place,
purchasing, invoicing and financial reports are
automatically created and distributed accordingly to
the department heads. This process was complemented with alerts and approvals. This not only
saved the employees time, it allowed them to focus
their energy on more strategic tasks.

As a result, the department no longer had to rekey
data into three separate systems, thus, eliminating
potential for error and saving employees time.
TGO saved Ongwanada $27,000 in software costs in
the first year alone. With the aforementioned
systems, Ongwanada would have had to purchase
additional modules to keep the systems running.
