The project purpose is to try to determine the affects of different testing modes in my own 7th grade science
classroom during the course of one summative unit assessment. The main goal for this research project is to
evaluate my own teaching and improve the use of technology in my classroom from the results obtained.

Additionally, my students were not asked to do anything different than they would in normal class. The data used
was data that I already had from my 7th grade students in my science class in which half were tested online and
half on paper after one unit of online instruction (Schoology). No consent forms are needed since this is action
research for which the purpose is to evaluate my own teaching practices. I do not believe this needs HSRB review
because the main purpose was to improve my personal teaching practices and the students were not asked to do
anything that they would not normally do in my classroom .
