Program(s)/Tool:
Adobe Illustrator

Objective:
Create a logo for varied use and application for a business

Process:
I wanted to incorporate my name in the design elements to
form my logo. I started with using my first name but felt my last
name was a better professional choice. At that point I decided
I wanted my icon to be a robin. I used the pen tool to trace and
draw a robin. I then edited it to be original and to fit the design
of my logo. I knew I wanted it to be red and so that led to my
color scheme.

different strokes and the curve tool I created the eyelashes.
I used similar techniques to create the mascara brush. I
then used InDesign to complete the business card.

Design a web page using HTML to display a logo and content.
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML and basic understanding
of CSS. Identify hex colors for web design.

Process:

I created this web page using only TextWrangler. After I marked

up all my content and inserted my image, I attached a pre-made
CSS document to my HTML. I then used the colors from my logo
as the colors for my web page. I found these colors by opening
Photoshop and using the eyedropper tool. I also changed my fonts
to Times New Roman and Verdana. I declared some backup fonts
just in case the viewers browser didnt have these fonts. I also
used padding around the logo and text so that they would not be

Evolving Elephant Encounters:

Robin has always had a passion
for these giant and kind creatures.
The idea for Elephant Encounters
was inspired by Robin Golden
after reading the books, Water
for Elephants and Modoc. As
Elephant Encounters was established
we realized we were making a
difference for the elephants, but
we realized we could also make a
difference for people as well. It was
there that we worked to build and
create an interactive program to help
both elephants and people.
