TheAppinitiallyloadsupwiththeTerm1andClass1.10classesarevisibleand6termsavailablein
therespectivedropdownlists.Howevertheappsupportsupto30classesand10Terms.SelectSettings
fromtheTermlisttoshow/hideavailabletermsandalsoedittheTermNames.Dothesamebyselecting
Settingsfromthelastclasslistoption.

Toenterstudentnamesmanually,clickonthe
icononthefarrighttoaddnewdata(student,attendance
dayorassignment)(

studentsperclass.Onceadded,shortpressingonthestudentnamewillgivetheoptionofviewingorediting
theinformation.
Toaddanewattendanceday,clickonthe
buttononce,andthenatheadddaybuttonisdirectlyinthe
sameposition,sotapagainandanewdaycolumnwiththecurrentdateisadded.Datesareautomatically
sortedindateorder.ThiswilladdanewdaywiththecurrentlyselecteddateanddefaultsettingofPresentfor
allstudents.

ShortpressingthePattendancemarkbringsuptheoption

backtoP.(MostcommonaretheUnexcusedAbsentandUnexcusedTardysymbols).
Note:AttendanceSymbolsandColorscanbecustomizedfromtheSettingsMenu(fromtheOverflowMenuIcon).

ShortpressingtheDateHeaderallowstheusertochangethedate,deleteadate,messageparentsoremail
anattendancereport.
ThereisaLock/Unlockbuttonatthetoprightofthescreen.Ifitissetto
LOCK,theDateandAttendance
buttonscannotbechanged.Thisisasafetyfeaturesothattheuserdoesnotaccidentallychangethe
date/attendancewhensimplyscrollingtheattendancedata.Theunlockbuttonisshownasthisicon

NOTE:Attheendofclass,theparentsofstudentswhoaretardyorabsentcangetanautomatictextoremailstating

Thisfeatureisaccessbyselectedthe

iconon4throw.Thescreenwillnowreloadtothegradebook

interface.Whileinthegradebookviewthe
iconbringsuptheoptiontoaddanewassignment.Simply
tapasecondtimetobringupthenewassignmentscreen.

Thenewassignmentscreenyoutoenterthetitle,maxpointstheassignmentisworthandwhetheryouwantto
beabletogivespecificpointsforeachstudent.

Ifthereisanattendancedatealreadyenteredintheappwiththesamedateastheassignmentdate,theoption
tomarktheassignmentasAbsentforAbsentstudentisavailableatthetop.Selectthecheckboxifyouwant
tousethisoption.

AssignmentWeightingThisoptionissettoPOINTSorEQUAL.If
settoPOINTS,theassignmentswillbeweightedbasedontheir
relativepoints,wherea20pointassignmentcarriestwicetheweight
ofa10pointassignment.IfsettoEQUALtheneachassignmentis
weightedthesameregardlessofpoints.

example:Astudenthasagradeof7/10(70%)and80/100(80%).
ForthePOINTSweighting,thefinalgradewillbe87/110or79%.
FortheEQUALWeightingthefinalgradewouldbetheaverageof

IfusingthePointsweighting,youhavetheoptionofusingassignmentcategories,andalsousingaspecific
weightedpercentageforeachassignmentcategoryaswell.Thesecategoriesareshownonthestudent
progressreport.

Onceenteredforoneclassyoucansavethesettingstooneof6defaultvalues.Thenwheninadifferent
classyoucanloadthevaluesfromthedefaultvaluesinordertosavetime.

Oncecategoriesaresetup,whenaddingassignmentsyouhavetheoptionofselectingthecategoryisgiven.
Ifyouaddedassignmentsbeforesettingupcategoriesyouwillneedtogobackandselectcategoriesforthose
assignmentsinorderforgradestobecalculatedcorrectly.

Droppinglowestscore
Lastly,acheckboxnexttoeachcategoryisgivenifyouwouldlikethestudentgradetobecalculatedby
droppingthelowestscoreoftheassignmentsineachcategory.Keepinmindifthereisonlyoneassignment,
noscorewillbedropped,anditisthelowestscorecalculatedbyapercentbasisthatisdropped
(Soascoreof7/10willbedroppedinsteadofan80/100).

GradeScale

TherearetwomainusersfortheGradeScale.

1.ReportingoverallgradeasaLetterSymbol
Forexample,intheUS,oftenanAFscaleisused.The
studentsoverallgradepercentisconvertedtotheletter
grade.Thefirstcolumniswherethegradesymbolisinput
andthesecondcolumnisthelowerrangeofthepercentthat
thesymbolfallswithin.Theupperrangeisalwaystherange
ofthesymbolabove.TouseLettergradesymbolsforthe
overallstudentgrade,itisnecessarytoENABLEtheGrade
ScalebytappingtheONbuttonforgradescale.

2.ReportingAssignmentGradesasaLetterSymbol
Whencreatinganassignment,aLetterGradetypeisan
option.Inthiscasethesymboloptionsforalettergrade
assignmentsaretheoneslistedonthisgradescalepage.Inordertocalculatethestudentgradebasedona
lettergradeassignment,acorrespondingpercentgradeisnecessary.Thispercentequivalentisthenumber
listedinthelastcolumnofthegradescalepage.

ThegradescaledoesnotneedtobeENABLEDinordertouseitfortheassignmentgrades.

*Upto30lettersymbolscanbeusedforthegradescalepage.However,onlyonetypeofgradescalecanbe
usedforeachclass.Eachclasscanhavetheirownindependentgradescale.

Usethissettingtorequirea4digitpasswordwhentheappisfirststarted.You
willneedtoentera4digitpassword,andasecurityphraseandanswer.Then
enablethepasswordwiththeenablebuttontotheright.

Attendance

Thisbuttonlinktotheattendancesymbolscreen,whereyoucancustomizethe
attendancesymbolsandcolors.

Advisors

Thisbuttonlinkstotheadvisorscreen,whereadvisornames,phonenumbers
andemailscanbeentered.Advisorscanthenbeassignedtoastudentonthe
editstudentscreen.Quiteafewmessageoptionswithintheappallowyouto
automaticallysendmessagestoadvisorsconcerningtheirstudentsattendance
andgrades.

Auto
Messaging

Withasimpletapstudents,parentsandadvisorscanreceiveanSMSorEmailif
astudentisabsentorlatetoclass,orismissinganassignment.Thetextbody
oftheautomessageisdefinedinthissetting.Thereisaprimarylanguageand
secondarylanguage.Intheeditparentsettings,thesecondarylanguagecanbe
setiftheparentspeaksthesecondarylanguage.
