ADJECTIVE
1. Definition
Adjective is a word that modifies noun or pronoun. An adjective is a word that
gives more information about the noun or pronoun that goes with it.
Nouns are words that name a place, a person, a thing, or an idea
Pronoun is a word that substitutes a noun.
2. Type of adjective
a. Descriptive adjective or adjective of quality
Descriptive Adjective is the adjective that is used to tell the sorts of noun
or quality.These adjectives describe nouns that refer to action, state, or quality
(careless, dangerous, excited, sad, black, white, big, small, long).
Example:
She is a beautiful girl
Drilling is cutting process that used a drill bit to produce a cylindrical
holes
b. Numeral Adjective
Numeral Adjective is the adjective which is used to show the number of
noun. There are three types of. Numeral Adjective as follow :
Definite Numeral Adjective
Definite Numeral Adjective is the adjective that is used to denote an exact
number of noun as first, second, third or one, two, three.
Example:
Ankor Wat is the seventh wonders of the world.
There are three types of twist drill that have different helix angle.
Indefinite Numeral Adjective
Indefinite Numeral Adjective is the adjective which is used to denote an
inexact number of nouns as some, any, much, many, little, a few.
Example:
She has a few pictures.
If the drilling process produce too many chips we have to clean it
frequently.
Distributive Numeral Adjective
Distributive Numeral Adjective is the adjective that is used to cache one
noun. They are every, each, another, other...
Example:
Vertical drilling machine is one type of drilling machine. Other
types are coordinate drilling machine, hand drilling machine and
radial drilling machine.
They speak to another person
c. Possessive adjective
Possessive Adjective is the adjective which is used to point out the noun
that belongs to someone and there are seven Possessive Adjectives. They
are My, Your, Our, Their, His, Her and Its.
Example:
His girl friend is waiting
In this workshop there are two kind of drilling machine - hand drilling
machine and bench drilling machine, their specification are different
from other.
d. Demonstrative adjective
A demonstrative adjective (this, that, these, those) shows the noun it
modifies is singular or plural and whether the position of the noun is near or
far from the person who is speaking or writing. A demonstrative adjective also
points out a fact about the noun.
Example:
These girls are good-looking
That drilling machine is not operating
e. Interrogative Adjective
Interrogative Adjective is the adjective that is used to ask the question. They
are what, which.
Example:
Which animal do you like?
What material can be drilled by type W twist drill?
3. Adjective formed with prefixes
A prefix is an affix which is placed before the stem of a word. Adding it to
the beginning of one word changes it into another word.

Notes:
- Some adjectives can have two forms with the same meaning,
e.g.counterclockwise/anticlockwise, non-existent/inexistent, nonscientific/unscientific.
- Most adjectives formed with prefixes are written as one word. In
some cases, e.g. after non-, a hyphen is used; however, usage varies.
