Walt Disney

Walt Disney is the brand/person/place that we all know.

Walt Disney Actually dropped out of school at the age of 16
hoping to join the army but he wasnt welcome as he was
under age. He searched for a job and ended up being an
ambulance driver for the Red Cross. Shortly before Walt
Disneys death, he had planned to build a ski resort but
after he died they decided to carry on with
Walt
Disney world. The last film that Walt
Disney
saw was the Jungle book before his death
of
lung cancer. Did you know that Walt
actually played the role as Peter Pan in a
school
play? And Walt Disneys favourite
character was Goofy?
In 1927, Walt Disney was struggling. But then he hit it big
with a character named Oswald the Rabbit. He sold the
rights of the character to Universal and it became Disneys
biggest success at that time, rivaling
contemporary cartoons Krazy Kat and Felix
the Cat. In 1928, Disney went to negotiate a
better contract for the rabbit and his
animators, but Universal had other plans. They wanted
Disney to take a twenty percent cut. Negotiations fell
through and Oswald the Rabbit, since his rights were
actually owned by Universal, became property of Universal.
Fast-forward 79 years: NBC (owned by Universal) had just
acquired the rights to broadcast the huge property of
Sunday Night Football and they needed someone to call the
games. They looked to hire Al Michaels, who was under
contract at ESPN (owned by ABC, which was owned by
Disney) . So Disney and Universal made a deal. Universal

would get Al Michaels and Disney would receive the nearly

80 year old cartoon, Oswald the Rabbit.
A few years later Walt made Mickey.
Mickey Mouse is a funny animal
cartoon character and the official
mascot of The Walt Disney Company.
He
was created by Walt Disney and Ub
Iwerks at the Walt Disney Studios in
1928.
An anthropomorphic mouse who
typically wears red shorts, large yellow shoes, and white
gloves, Mickey has become one of the most
recognizable cartoon characters in the
world. A long came a romance with a girl
Mickey Mouse called Minnie. Minerva "Minnie"
Mouse is a funny animal cartoon character
created by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney. She
was first drawn by Iwerks in 1928, as was
Mickey Mouse. The comic strip story "The
Gleam" by Merrill De Maris and Floyd
Gottfredson first gave her full name as Minerva
Mouse, although this is seldom used.
Did you know that Walt Disney did know that he would be
making Walt Disney World but he died of lung cancer in the
making of it? He also made the park on land that people
had been selling for only a hundred pounds.
As he died the Walt Disney World seemed to get bigger and
bigger and bigger until now when everyone seems to know
it and ever since they were a kid they wanted to go. Most
people around the parks wear were mickey or Minnie head
bands with little ears poking out. I know I have got one!
