4.1.1 What is the policy of the Institution for creation and enhancement of infrastructure
that facilitate effective teaching and learning?
The College has established policies and procedures to create the infrastructure in par
with the standards and norms, adheres with the rules and regulation of regulatory bodies
like AICTE, ANNA University, NBA, NAAC etc. in the form of human resources
(Faculty, Technical and Administrative staff), laboratory equipment, built-up place,
learning resources, (print and electronic and teaching learning aids) by keeping the
following objectives in view to promote Teaching Learning process.
The infrastructural policy of the college is driven by visualization of future requirements
of teachers, administrative staff and students particularly in advance. At present, the focus
of the college is to create physical infrastructure with latest information technology in
mind so as to facilitate effective teaching and learning in the classroom.
The college intends to impart quality education and all round personality development of
the students
Class rooms and laboratories in adequate numbers are well designed to maintain the
ambience for an effective teaching and learning process.
The college strives to build infrastructure facilities for research activities.
The management constantly evaluates the existing facilities and takes steps to improve
them (construction of additional build up area in recent past years confirms the intention).
The Governing council of the institute takes care of the administrative problems and
oversees the maintenance.
The institution has OHP and LCD projectors, smart-class rooms audio-visual rooms, and
Wi-Fi/campus wide intranet as teaching tools for an effective learning with improved
quality.
Feedback on infrastructure and its quality of maintenance is collected from the
stakeholders (mainly students).
Realizing the need of the competitive job market, the institute regularly conducts review
of value added courses, skill enhancement programs and enrichment courses, etc and
creates new facilities from time to time

To purchase books in central library and department library to meet the requirements.
Budget allocations will be intimated to the departments / sections concerned.

Classrooms:
The institution has sufficient number of well-furnished, well ventilated, spacious classrooms for
conducting theory classes.
Class Room are spacious and ergonomically designed so that proper ventilation, lighting is
provided with good acoustics.

Laboratories:

All laboratories are well equipped, and well maintained not only for carrying out curriculumoriented lab practicals but also to carry out research activities.
Technology enabled learning rooms:
Each department in the college is provided with class rooms with LCD projector and
public addressing system to facilitate engaged and active learning.
Seminar Halls:

College has five seminar halls (EEE, ECE, CIVIL, CSE, NSH) to conduct conferences,
workshops and symposia for students and faculty of the departments.
A seminar hall has a maximum seating capacity of 200 and is fully air conditioned. It is equipped
with LCD projector, LCD screen, white board and public addressing system.
Tutorial classrooms:

Each department has tutorial classrooms to conduct tutorial classes to address the
personal level doubts and queries of the students.
Tutorial class is equipped with glass board, wooden benches, and fans, windows for air
circulation and ventilation and tube lights for proper lighting.
Specialized facilities and equipment for teaching, learning and research:
The college has exclusive English communication skills lab with 60 Apart from the

b) Extra curricular activities sports, outdoor and indoor games, gymnasium,


auditorium, NSS, NCC, cultural activities, Public speaking, communication skills
development, yoga, health and hygiene etc.
Sports:

Students are encouraged to take part in sports activities after the


college hours.College teams are formed to take part in Anna
universitycompetitions and other inter college competitions.
Sports event competitions are conducted in the interdepartmental
level in a academic Year and the winners are awarded.
The outdoor games such as Ball-badminton, volley ball, cricket, hand
ball Athletics, hockey, football etc. are also provided.
A permanent basketball court in Indoor stadium and Volley ball courts
and ball badminton court is provided.

Communication Skills Development:
The focus is on training the students to speak fluent, intelligible, appropriate,
and functionally correct English through phonetics, role plays, and debates.
Advanced communication skills laboratory focuses on reading and writing
skills and integrating these with speaking, listening and other intra and
interpersonal skills.
Keeping in view the growing importance of Soft Skills, the Training and
Placement department imparts Soft Skills to the students right from the I Year
onwards. Along with regular subjects, a separate session is allotted to each
branch for training in aptitude, verbal and soft skills.

4.1.3 How does the institution plan and ensure that the available infrastructure is in line
with its academic growth and is optimally utilized? Give specific examples of the facilities
developed/augmented and the amount spent during the last four years (Enclose the Master
Plan of the Institution / campus and indicate the existing physical infrastructure and the
future planned expansions if any).
Institute develops the infrastructure as per the norms of AICTE and Anna
University
The experts from the regulatory authorities regularly visit the Institute.
This enables the Institute to ensure the infrastructure adequacy and
optimum use for academic growth.

Students and staff are provided with medical examination and treatment at
health care centre in the campus.

Grievance Redressal unit:
The composition of the complaints-cum-grievance redressal committee shall be:
Headed by a senior Faculty member and Heads of the academic departments.
Objectives:
To enquire into the complaints received from the aggrieved students including ragging.
To recommend to the principal for appropriate action
Counselling and Career Guidance:

Every faculty member in the department will be associated with 20 students to continuously
monitor their academic performance and facilitate them to do well in their studies.
The faculty advisor will discuss with the parents of the wards with respect to attendance,
academic performance and discipline.
Objectives of the Cell:

To provide counselling to the students facing personal problems.

To conduct frequent interactive sessions with students
To create social interactions and compatibility among the students

Placement and training:


The department is headed by a Placement coordinator and a Training Head with 6 faculty
members.
